Adopters picking up voids from a cycle town?

ok, so I just ran into a lot of trouble adopting out Fauna to this person: They came in and she wouldn't ask to move in, so I told them to go back to their town and tt a day forward. A voided villager from my town appeared in their town. They kicked out another villager to make room for Fauna and came back in, and again, Fauna wouldn't move! I think they got a second void from my town. They gave up and I adopted Fauna out to someone else with no problems.

My question is, how often do things like these happen? Is it rare for trades to be ruined by voided villagers? I run a cycle town, so of course I auto-voided some low tier villagers and never cleared my void as that would require asking someone with 10 villagers if I could visit them. Should I start doing that to ensure adoptions go through smoothly or is the issue too uncommon and I shouldn't bother?

How could they have gotten a second void from your town? I believe that there is only one villager in the void, until the void is cleared.
I've never picked up a void from a cycle town, never mind two.

I'm not sure, but they affirm they had 9 villagers all times they tried and that they hadn't had Fauna before, so I'm assuming we got really unlucky and they got two voided villagers in a row. I'd have to ask them about the second move in, I already confirmed the first one came from my town.

I am sure that the second one did not come from your town, otherwise this issue would occur way more often. And if this were to be an issue, what would be the point of clearing voids?
Maybe it is just an unfortunate event and they picked up a void from someone else too.

i've voided a lot of villagers since i started cycling but nobody's picked up any of my voided villagers so far. maybe something went wrong with their time travelling to get villagers in/out to accommodate fauna?

Yeah, they might've gotten the other void from someone else too, that'd be a really unlucky situation ): But yeah, one of the voids they got was Sterling, which was the last one to move out before Fauna got in boxes.

What do you mean she wouldn't move? If they are in boxes they should still say they will move a new town.

The void consists of the last 16 villagers to move out of your town, except the ones that were adopted. There is no way to clear it.

Maybe they've had Fauna before and didn't cycle 16?
That's really all that could think of.
But if not, that's really weird. :/

That doesn't sound common at all (and I'm not sure why the other user would have to TT at all before trying again). Maybe the first villager they got wasn't from you and had already plotted in their town, keeping Fauna from moving in. That happened to someone I was giving a villager to once, they couldn't adopt my villager because another plotted on their town before they visited me and they didn't notice.

If that's not the case and they never had Fauna before, I don't think it would be strange that they picked up villagers from your void, since they had a free spot and left your town without adopting Fauna.
