Last year played during the fall. This is the first time.

I understand I can get the mush series with acorns instead of mushrooms.
How many oak trees would I need, to have enough acorns?

As many as possible to get the best chance, I reckon. There's a lot of randomness involved.

I reckon so. I've never actually properly done the Acorn Festival before to be honest with you.

If it's not enough due to bad luck, you may wish to consider time travelling though Wild World has some somewhat extreme punishments for doing so.
