Now, there are a lot of hybrid flower guides out there, and there are a couple good ones on Youtube. But something I've noticed is they only really list the default combinations for hybrids. Yet, there are a lot of combinations to produce these hybrids, yet hardly any guide lists these.

Which got me thinking, I'm going to be playing my current town every day for quite some time and I was considering making my own ACNL Hybrid Guide, but actually testing and listing the many combinations of
flowers you can use to obtain a hybrid... just so I don't accidentally spread false information around since I can't remember them all from memory.

Just as a quick example, pretty much every guide lists a Purple Tulip comes from two Orange Tulips, but did
you know you can get one from an Orange and Yellow Tulip?

Unfortunately if I go through with this, which I probably will because it's a good resource for myself, it will definitely take a while to complete since there are probably more combinations than we are aware of in this game, plus with the new game coming this year (hopefully), having well tested combinations might prove useful.

I like this idea, some guides can be questionable, and it's best to test them yourself to see if they hold true. Best of luck on your hybrid breeding endeavors.

Thanks. It will definitely take a while... dozens of combinations to check. Just going to work on getting everything ready over these next couple weeks, lol.

this sounds so interesting! this is my n-th time resetting and one thing that i'm never quite happy with is landscaping my town/getting all the hybrids i want. will look forward to seeing your progress!

An official, accurate hybrid guide would definitely be useful. If you needed some beach space to experiment with hybrids, I would be happy to help as I could learn a thing or *two as well :)

Thank you for the offer, but I enjoy doing these types of things on my own, and I've got a nice wide open area in front of my Train Station to test out different combinations of flowers. The project likely won't start for another few weeks, since I have to grow a lot of hybrids.

On that note, I may take a different approach and do a certain flower type, then post my findings in new threads until everything is thoroughly tested, then I'll create a mega-thread for everyone to use.

May start out with Tulips, since I've gotten a bit of progress on that already. Roses will likely be last, since my luck with blue roses is utter garbage times infinity.

I understand, thought I'd offer! Love this idea.

I think that would be very helpful. I remember finding an accurate hybrid breeding guide was so difficult back when I was trying to breed purple pansies and blue roses. It caused me so much frustration having to keep starting over from scratch when I found out the guide I was using wasn't accurate.

heck yes! It was difficult to breed flowers for me. It has been months in one town, I have been trying to get a hybrid. There where flowers everywhere in the town. Soon when i opened my town, a blue hybrid violet appeared beside some flowers near my house.

other town, it was the flower event on TBT. Someone gave me some.

The interest this has gotten makes me wish I had a second town to time travel with, so I could test this much faster... Oh well, maybe the wait will be better since I won't mess up anything.

Anyways, hoping to work on researching flower combos for "PART 1 (Tulips)" starting Sunday and hope to have it ready the following Sunday. Just missing some hybrid tulips. I know I could buy them from other users, but.. I dunno. That'll be a last resort.

Good luck on that!!!
you could use an emulator for NL on your laptop. im not sure if im allowed to talk about this so im covering it with white.

I really like this idea! I look forward to your guide. I just started a new town today, so I could use all the help I need with breeding flowers. :)

A better guide to all the flower combinations would be great! It's a great idea good luck!

Thanks. It will take a while to complete, since I don't want to miss anything.

Actually semi-starting the project now, going to be working on it in 'parts'. Tulips will be first. But as usual life likes to troll me and it decided it wanted to rain today, which watered everything and might mess with results. Smh. e-e
