Hey guys, I had a question. Does the game have to update for you to be able to play it even if you're offline? My sister is deployed and I want to send her the game since she's dealing with stuff but I want to make sure she can play it. She has no access to WiFi and the only means she has of communication is a shared PC on the ship. She has her switch which was last updated before her deployment in January. I don't want to just waste my time and get her excited if it will just say she can't run it without any sort of update.

I know it's a bit of a read any help will be great thanks!

I think you can just select 'start software' when prompted and it'll start up the game without needing to update. Obviously she won't be playing online anyway, but once she wants to play online she'll have to update the game. And obviously she won't get all the updates (like Bunny Day and other events) that will be updated VIA free DLC as time passes.

thanks, i was thinking this could be it. I had an experience with a MK game I bought for the switch tho that even after starting software all the game would allow me to do was training. I couldn’t do story mode or arcade until I updated and I wasn’t connected.
