ACNH: Advice?

Hey everyone! So I am planning to buy a Nintendo Switch Lite soon so I can FINALLY play Animal Crossing New Horizons!!!! I'm really excited. But, I need a little bit of advice. I was planning to buy a Nintendo Switch Lite this week but then I realized Black Friday was soon, and I should wait. However, I already have a deal to buy ACNH for $50 ($10 off) and a Switch Lite for $180 ($20 off) I don't even know if there will be a better deal by Black Friday. I searched it up and it will probably be $20 off, but I already have that deal, and I will lose my ACNH deal. Should I wait?

Next item of business: I'm getting ACNH! Whether it's in November or this week, I'm still incredibly excited. I've played Animal Crossing for a total of 5 years and I really love the franchise. I would say I'm getting pretty good, too! Any advice for the next game? Anything I need to know? What are some tips for having a really cute town and also, what should I name my town! I'm going for a Zen theme or a Fairytale theme, I'm not sure which. My ACNL town name is Willow, and I really like that name. What are some names that will fit either aesthetics? Anyway, post your advice here!

Oh, I totally will do a fairytale town! It will take a couple months and I don't have the nintendo membership thingy. I might get it though, and even if I don't, I will totally still post pictures!

Personally, I'd buy now. But... I'm impatient and bought it the day it was released because I was so impatient BUT. If you're not a TTer (this advice is really moot if you are) and you do wait until November, keep in mind you'll need to wait another year to experience the Halloween event!

And my only advice is to make sure you get a map you like ASAP. Remember all locations can be changed EXCEPT the location of the airport, RS plaza (a tent at the beginning), secret beach (back of the island, where Redd visits), and the rivermouths (where the river meets the ocean). Otherwise everything can be changed, but you want to make sure you like those.

As for themes, I like the fairytale idea! But I personally have never been able to do a themed town, lol. Personally, I like more variety. If you think there's any chance you'll lose interest in a theme at some point, I suggest picking a neutral island name- like I said, you can change your town around entirely however you like once you get K.K. to visit (I don't find it very hard to reach that point, I did so accidentally just by decorating my town, lol). But the island's name can't be changed. Neither can character names or B-days, but character appearances (including gender) can be changed at any point by using a mirror- just a random tip!

I think those are some great ideas, thank you! I usually just use my normal name for my character because I don't really care. The halloween event is pretty important, I might time hop. I'm most likely buying it this week, idek anymore. A fairytale town is my main idea, but there will be other things too. Not all just castles and stuff, I will have parks, and a marketplace, ngl I think it might be a neutral town like you said. But I still really love the idea of having a fairytale town lol

Oh! And some other things that can't be changed-
-Native fruit, though any and all exotic fruits can be planted. But, unless you have friends you can connect with locally, you won't be able to get more than two fruits (your native and a "sister" fruit your in-game mom will mail you and that you'll find randomly on Nook Miles islands). Native fruit isn't a huge deal, though, since perfect fruit doesn't exist in the game yet. But it does show up on your little passport thing.
-Airport color- the exterior color is randomized between... blue, green, yellow, and orange/red IIRC.

Umm... I'm pretty sure there's more, but I can't think right now Anyone see any I missed?

Maybe you can incorporate both perhaps? You only get one island per Switch, so maybe you can divide your island into two, and have them sort of be opposites of each other; Fairytale kingdom on one end, and the Zen kingdom on the other. I don't know, I literally thought of that now and thought it would be cool1

Oh! If you're not afraid of TTing, keep in mind you can go back to previous events that happened this year, like Bunny Day, Nature Day, and I'm pretty sure the Wedding Event that happened in June. I'm sure there's a list somewhere online of events you can TT to, but I'm too tired to track it down RN, lol

Oh! Well, then, I guess it's not nearly as important. I don't have many RL friends who play so I kind of rely on my membership, lol. But I also already had the membership from buying Pokemon.

See, I'm a lot more likely to lose the physical copy, lol. I used to like the feeling of a real game copy, but now that I have a memory card and memory isn't an issue, I have to admit it's nice to be able to switch games without having to switch out a cartridge.

Also, you should be able to buy games on the Switch (I've been doing it nowadays since I'm lately and I can usually play them a little earlier than if I get a physical copy) without an online membership. I'm 99.9% sure I did. You just need a Nintendo ACCOUNT, which is 100% free to create, I believe. But obviously only if you'd prefer them like that.
