Achievement Hunters and Completionists Thread

My first platinum trophy of 2026 was gotten from Once Upon a Katamari! Even though there definitely could've been a lot more difficult trophies included in theory, thankfully the only requirement for all the trophies is getting all the crowns in every level, which is pretty straightforward. I was able to actually get the platinum trophy before I properly beat the game as a result, which I think is a first for me, lol

Latest three platinums: Fantasy Life i: The Girl Who Steals Time, Story of Seasons: Pioneers of Olive Town, and Fae Farm.

Fantasy Life was absolutely my favourite of the three. Sunk another 30hrs in since obtaining the platinum and with the new DLC will definitely investing more time in it. Nefarious kindly gave me advice regarding the one trophy I was struggling with, bless him!

SoS: PoOT is far from the best Story of Seasons game ever released, and completing the museum was a pain, but I still enjoyed the game despite its flaws. At some point I'll need to pick up Grand Bazaar. Not right now though, I think I need a break from farming sims.

Fae Farm was my gift to myself for my two week winter break. Very cute, fun, but when going for the plat it does get a bit grindy towards the end. Mostly due to needing to successfully breed animals with each of the fourteen colour charms. The DLC looks like it focuses on elements of the game I'm not as interested in, so I think I'll be giving those a miss.

I got the platinum trophy for Yooka-Replaylee today! I ended up getting the platinum trophy for Yooka-Laylee over 8 and a half years ago, so I was always going to make sure I got the platinum trophy for the remake, lol. Nothing too difficult on my way to getting the platinum!

I platinumed Niche today. Fun for the first 50hrs, cussing out RNG for the last 4hrs. 😂 The trophy for breeding a 12+ strength nicheling was the worst.

I remember this game and wow that's impressive, congrats. It gets pretty difficult. I tried so many times to get through the story mode and gave up. It's a pretty fun game though maybe I'll try again someday.

Getting past the early stages was the biggest hurdle for me - went extinct on the Archipelago map multiple times. Once you've more genes unlocked it gets easier!

I ended up 100%ing and getting all the achievements in Cult of the Lamb! I played and beat it way back near the end of 2024, but I wanted to revisit it at some point to finish off all the post-game stuff and 100% it. Thankfully the recent Woolhaven DLC gave me the excuse I needed to pick it up again, and after playing it throughout this entire month, I 100%ed it yesterday and finally got the last achievement I was missing (Slayer of Souls) today! Thankfully the Purgatory stuff is optional and just gives you a bonus 10% if you finish all of it, since it was grueling enough to try and get one full row done, so I didn't want to repeat it 19 more times. 😅

Is the DLC fun? I platinumed the base game a couple of years ago but haven't revisited it since.

I find that I am a "completionist with a short attention span" 😆

I find myself taking so much time on side quests and collecting items that I get burned out and rarely complete the main story line. I had that problem with GTA5 and, a third go around I forced myself to focus on the story only and finally finished!

I almost wore myself out in Hogwarts Legacy recently as well. I was trying to find all of the little things, that I almost didnt finish the main story, but I made it! Now... I just need to finish the ridiculous amount of achievements 🙃

I used to do the same thing years ago, but then I realized a lot of the side stuff was very boring, repetitive, and a grindy collectable in some way. So now I just do some of the side stuff that sounds like it will be interesting and anything that looks like it will bore me to tears I don't bother with. Unless it's absolutely necessary.

Metroid Prime 4 had you collect these green crystals in this open desert free-roam world. You needed to collect so many that it took about 2 hours give or take before you could complete the story. Even with collecting them here or there as I push through the story I still had to burn about an hour or more at the end just collecting green crystals. Who thought that was a good idea 😅
