I don't mind accents, most of the time I find them cute but of course there are a lot I don't get. I have difficulties to get southern American accent sometimes.

There's nothing to be offended about though, and calling someone a racist just for a reaction is nasty even if you were joking, its not something to joke about.

It depends what kind of humor you have and the way you look at things. Nothing is truly nasty and nothing is truly good either. I personally don't think it was nasty at all, it's funny. Anyways if you wanna be butthurt over my joke than that's on you, not me. buh bye.

I actually like them, I think they're cool. (especially irish accents, I looooove Irish accents) I'm not particularly fond of the north jersey/New York ones, but they've grown on me over the years. not a big fan of southern accents either, but I wouldn't say I hate them.

I don't dislike any accents, though I have strong pronunciation preferences which I keep in mind are my *own* problem when speaking with those who say those words differently (herb as "erb", literally as "litrally", derby as "derby" instead of "darby" et al).

I don't really have much trouble understanding different accents. I grew up in a part of Melbourne, Australia which had an incredibly diverse range of nationalities, languages, and cultures represented. I know my parents still struggle to follow even mildly thicker or heavier accents, but my 3 sisters and I can usually follow anything. If not, it's almost always a problem of words being incorrectly spoken together, rather than each word separately, something that commonly happens with ESL speakers as they learn the language. A quick redo of the key words, and appropriate pronunciation of them, always fixes that problem. Enunciation is difficult, especially in english, but it's doable if the speaker is willing to try. And I've never yet spoken to someone who isn't willing to try when they need/want to communicate with me!
