AC Pronuncing Challenge!

Dierdre, I pronounce Deer-dra... seems fitting; and that's how my rl friend of the same name pronounces her's. ^^

How does everyone pronounce Soleil? I say Sol-i-el. Its probably wrong because I mix up the I with the E because it sounds better.

Wow, This is so interesting! That makes me wonder about my villager's names too. But mine are very different considering my game is Japanese. Right now, I'm best friends with a deer named "Takeru", that is "Bam" in English.(≧▽≦)

I say Sol?il, that's how it's pronounced in my language >v<

I say So-lay because I know a girl who named her child that, and says it that way. I can only imagine that she researched how to say it before picking the name ;u; so I trust her hahaha

And thanks you two for recording your attempts! It's fun hearing us stumble over words together!

I say hippeux like

Hip- pukes XD

and merengue? O_o forgot the name already like

Mer-en-gew

I SHALL TAKE THIS CHALLENGE WHEN NO ONE IS HOME TO HEAR ME AND SAY

Oh, this is a fun thread! How would you pronounce Pekoe? One of my favorite villagers but I can never be sure

I say it like Pe-ko but I really have no idea. It could be pe-ko-eh...

I tried it but it didn't work out on half of them lol xD I don't think I can say Beau properly c; Hippeux was pronounced like Hipp-ux and I couldn't be bothered to say most of the fossil's and catchable's names. (the overly complicated ones)

I'm not posting a video though :x Too embarrassing .-.

Also I like your tumblr c; It's cute ^^'

Heh c: It's a good thing no one is at home right now where I am ^^' No need for them to think i'm any crazier c:

I pronounce Merengue as "muh-RANG" because of the dessert, meringue. I know that it's spelled to look like the dance, but honestly, I think they really were just using an e instead of an i as a cute spelling choice; as someone who has a name that is spelled different than normal, that was the conclusion I came to.

I pronounce Pekoe as "peh-ko-eh" because that's how it would be pronounced in Japanese; to be honest, though, I don't really know what language the name comes from, so I'm not sure if that's correct. Generally, whenever I see a foreign word, I always try to pronounce it the Japanese way, because that's really the only language I know anything about other than English.

I pronounce Deirdre as "deer-dra" because I actually knew a girl who had that name spelled that way, and that's how it was pronounced, haha.

And finally, I pronounce Hippeaux as "hippo" because... I honestly can't think of any other way to say it. XD

I'm pretty sure Meringue is mer-en-gay.
Especially being a Spanish speaker.
As most of you guys know Meringue is a Spanish dance. But it seems a lot if you guys don't know that the dessert Meringue (pronounced marang in English ) IS pronounced mer-en-gay in Spanish. So she can still be named after the dessert.

Oh wow, I didn't know that! I guess it is pronounced that way, then. :)
