About villagers moving out...

So Bruce just pinged me and said that he's thinking of moving out, but I'm not really keen to let him go- mainly because I have a few other villagers that I would really prefer to leave .-. I kinda have a soft spot for Bruce too if I'm being honest even though I don't usually like the cranky type that much.

But I'm just wondering- if I stop Bruce from moving, will I have to wait another 5-10 days for another villager to ping me? I don't TT (well, I kinda skip back and forth to different times in the day sometimes, but I never change days if that makes sense) and I want to make room in my town asap for new villagers, so I might let Bruce go if I need to wait all that time again.

I'm still in the conversation with Bruce, so I'd appreciate an answer soon or I'm gonna be stuck in this conversation all day haha ^^' Thanks!

aaaahhh that sucks, I might let him go then tbh. I know he's rad but I've had him for so long now and I'm working on getting my dreamies so he'd have to go eventually I guess ;o;

No, in my experience you could get a move-out request from a different villager within just a few days, 5-10 seems too long (not sure, maybe even the very next day?).

Villagers seem to take ages to move out in my town though, and I'm pretty sure I've always let whoever was wanting to move go, which is why I was wondering about this o:

Like I said, he'll have to go eventually so I'm just gonna let him :c It's just a shame it couldn't have been T-Bone or Graham first haha

If you have other villagers that you'd really prefer to let go, i'd say no to Bruce. I'm currently in the same situation, Sterling pinged me to move and although I said yes, I'd rather move villagers out that are more in the way. Although I don't like Sterling, so i'm just happy he's moving out. If you have a soft spot for Bruce i'd say no, because you might regret it. I let Fuchsia go, and although I don't regret it I do miss her a little bit but I do have Flo now, which i'm so happy with. So if you are hesistant on letting him go, i'd say no. One of your villagers will ask to move out in a few days anyway, so you won't have to wait all that long for somebody else to move out. But you would have to wait 5-10 days for somebody else to move out so if you don't want to wait that long either, i'd just move him out. Also, somebody can ping the day after somebody wants to move, it's happened to me before.

You don't have to wait 5-10 days for another villager to tell you that they're planning on moving out. Actually, you could get one villager to tell you this the next day after you've told the previous villager not to move out. This is why you have to keep an eye out for everyone.

Yeah honestly idk why I even started this thread I'm so predictable; I chickened out and I asked him to stay pfft. I couldn't let go of my Brucie~ ;o;

Oh, this is reassuring at least haha, my villagers just never seem to leave for some reason :/ But I'll definitely keep an eye out! ^^

no, it is totally random when they want to move. you can get one villager wanting to move out every day.

This is my experience with villagers wanting to leave. There was a time when I was getting moving requests every single day. It was just a different villager each time wanting to leave. I generally get them now every 3 to 5 days.

I had Wolfgang try to move out on me and I told him to stay, the very next day Mira wanted to move out. I don't think you'll have to wait!

Just putting this out there, I'd highly recommend TTing to move villagers out/get dreamies faster. It's easy. It will take a lot longer if you don't.

I usually get a mover every 4 to 5 days (it's usually 4) but just as an example, last week I had marshal ask to leave and I refused him, the next day I had Lopez ask to move. So you might be better just refusing Bruce right now, otherwise you will have to wait 5 days regardless until he leaves and somebody else an move

I also second what breath mint says, if you use the 4 days forward and 4 days back method you're pretty safe. I've only messed up previously through my own fault by not concentrating
