Has anyone ever told them their house is ugly?

I never have. Even if it is a monstrosity I just don't have the heart. I wonder if some thick-skinned people out there have ever gave them the bad news. Or does everybody be nice and say their house is awesome even if it isn't?

Yeah...I've been wondering this every time I visit. I figured I may as well ask everybody else.

I also can't bear to disappoint my villagers like that! I do think that if you tell them it's horrible they'll start coming to your for advice on how to re-decorate? I have no clue!

You are just like me! I hope somebody here has tried it and lets us know, then. I know they are pixels...but I just can't bear to try it. I'd feel so guilty. I just came out of Marcel's house and he has an ugly fossil in there I really need to buy from him next time I have bells on me, and I STILL couldn't tell him it looked bad. I'm such a sap.

Nope! Even though Marshal's house looks absolutely awful at the moment, I don't have the heart to choose "It's ugly" option. I really love seeing villagers get happy when you told them their rooms are awesome.
Though I wonder sometimes what will happen when you choose the bad option...

I also don't like putting fossils in retail because I think they look ugly in houses. But I always see advice telling you to sell fossils there because it makes the most bells. Ah well.

I also am getting antsy about attaching presents to letters since I didn't realise villagers actually display them! So far I've been giving them shells and sparklers (haha got them from the fireworks show) and I've seen a couple of shells in their houses! Ah, I might rethink what to give my villagers in letters now.

Hah! Well, we are ALL in the Sap Association! It's all good, tho. I'm glad I'm not alone in not being able to hurt their feelings.

And I'm NEVER selling a fossil in Re-Tail ever again. I used to, but was horrified when I actually saw the villagers display it later. Back then I never gave that a thought. I just wanted the bells. Now I have to fix things and sell NICE items.

Oh my! She looks so sad! Still, you didn't say it was ugly. I should have told Genji his house was ugly before I gave him away because I don't like him...but I chickened out at the last minute. Ugh! I really need to grow a backbone. Well, that or just accept that I'm a sap.

Yes, I've told Iggly his house looked awful. It was really awful, I bought all of his sloppy furniture and I honestly didn't like his house. So, I actually gave him back his sloppy furniture and I'm happy with how it looks, kind of...still needs work, but now I don't say his house is ugly.

If a house is REALLY ugly, I definitely will tell the villager that. Then, I would work on giving them the furniture that used to be there back through letters. I do also give them their original clothes back! Kind of my process as the "fashion police" in my town.

Oh, wow. Did he cry? I wonder now if the villager's personality type has anything to do with reactions. Maybe a Jock would, say, take it well and want to improve? I know the snooties say that they will work harder even when you tell them their house is great. Hmm...I still wonder about this!

That's one of the things I wonder, but can't find out because I just can't say that a house is awful. Maybe there are some things that we will never know...

^ yeah, i figured if i said anything awful it would lower their friendship levels. and eh i suppose people have different tastes, just because i don't like it doesn't mean it's horrible. . .

I have, yes. Told Curly his house was awful. Don't remember how he reacted - I think he may have gotten angry, hahaha.

i tell everyone their house is ugly unless i actually like it which only happened with marshal and goldie
from my experience they didnt get upset bc they said they liked my honesty even if its brutal and i got letters from them saying "thanks for being honest about my house"

Nope, I could never do it. I don't like upsetting my villagers; my responses are usually based on how I would answer in real life, and I make sure to keep my villagers' houses well-decorated in the first place! Even if I don't particularly like their style of decor, if I think it's well put-together, I'll tell them it's awesome.

I rarely do unless its a villager that really annoys me, I just do it for laughs ^^;
Often though I can't bare to do that haha.
