? About store upgrades...

I've tried finding this online but for some reason I can't find anything on it. I have two questions. First, does Nooks Homes upgrade? I see a grey second story but I've looked at numerous pages and don't see anything about an upgrade and how to get it. Also, I just bought the crown at Able Sisters and I'm having buyers remorse. I wanted it so bad so I saved my million bells while still doing PWP'a. Now I'm just thinking of all the things I could have done with that! Can I at least expect a shop upgrade from buying that? I already have Shampoodle, but thought maybe there was another upgrade or something. Just wondering! Thanks for reading.

Thanks! So from the sounds of it, Nooks doesn't upgrade to that grey second story that's above it. Does spending $ in Able Sisters put money towards the upgrade for Nooklings? It's not clear on that!
