I'm triggered. So my town had nine villagers: Bonbon, Punchy, Whitney, Stitches, Drago, Cherry, Knox, Zell, and Ankha. I hadn't adopted, invited a camper, or Streetpassed at all. When I started my game today, Isabelle had the audacity to tell me that someone moved in. I looked at the map, and sure enough, a new house was behind my 2nd character's home where about 40 purple tulips are. Then, I made the mistake of clicking on the house. Much to my dismay, the new (unwelcome) resident just so happened to be the mutant, plagued, eyesore of a toad Wart. Jr. In short, what is the quickest way to get rid of unwanted villagers?

I'm going to try to resolve this to the best of my ability. For those just now reading this, I guess learn from my mistakes. You may be able to tell I'm rather new to this forum, and not fully experienced with the guidelines of the forum, which, in all honesty I really should be. In short, here's why the responses to this thread so appalled me. I post something buying/selling/trading/etc. and I get maybe 3 replies. I post something that angers people, and I get 20 responses telling me what I did wrong. Don't get me wrong, each of you had every right to. I understand that I can't always expect 30+ offers on every post I make, which makes every bit of sense due to my lack of experience and credibility. For the record, me calling out that user was purely me joking (him and I are good friends), which in retrospect, was 100% unnecessary. I'm not sure what exactly was going through my mind yesterday evening (likely a side effect of the painkiller of my recent surgery), but I know that I'm entirely at fault for my actions, and I sincerely hope I haven't caused any negative impact on any user present.

Uhm, when I had Beau, I only talked to him once when he moved in, so that he would ping me that he would move eventually.
About a week after ignoring him, he was the first one (and quickest) to ever move out of my town, even though there were like 2 other villagers I wanted gone, but it was prolly cos I talked to Agent S more than once by accident...

So maybe if you ignore him and not interact with him in any way after that one time, he'll move out faster?

talk to him his first day in town when he's in boxes, and then ignore him like the (warty?) plague. Don't hit him with a net, toy hammer, etc., it'll make him stay longer.

hey, so can you like...not call out specific users please? no one intends for unwanted villagers to be picked up by other towns. it's not their fault you accidentally got a voided villager. i know it sucks, and it's understandable to be a bit angry at the person, but don't point fingers at them over an accident.

in case you're afraid of this happening again, try starting a new file to plot reset any voided villagers you may have picked up the day after you play with someone (whether it's online play or local wireless). if there's no new house, you're good to go and you don't have to save. at least then you have a chance to get the voided villager somewhere where they're not wrecking your town. of course, it's not guaranteed to work, since i haven't tried this, plus it won't work out if you already have 4 permanent humans.

i picked up a voided villager via streetpass (boone) and he ruined everything. but things worked out in the end. i lost 3 dreamies in a mess of cycling but things worked out and i got them all back. i'm sure in the end your tulips will be fine.

also, on the subject of moving animals out, i usually introduce myself and then completely ignore them. it usually seems to work, although gloria is being stubborn as hell

I had a recent problem like that (Hazel and her huge brow). I had nine villagers and picked her up from someone's void, which seems to be what happened with you based on what you said. It happens. Just talk to them a lot, make friends with them, then they ping you to move. I was ignoring Hazel for weeks (in game) and only earlier decided to stop and try befriending her like someone suggested to me. Then two days (again in game) in she pinged me about moving. Sorry about your tulips though, I know that sucks.

It isn't nice to just call people out like that, they aren't to blame for anything. It isn't their fault you picked up one of their voided villagers, they didn't dump them in your town. I'm saying this if that wasn't a joke.

im sorry you got that mess of a toad although the other day somebody did say he kinda looked like peanut brittle so that's kinda comforting. What i've found to be the quickest method to get unwanted villagers out is to befriend them, this means spamming their chat, doing requests that they may have and overall just being really nice to them. Although some villagers i've had and didn't want, haven't taken that long to move out when I wasn't befriending them. It just depends really sometimes by chance the villager will want to move out within a week of being in your town and sometimes they won't. But it is good to befriend them, because most of the time the game usually wants to move out villagers that your good friends with. Ignoring them works too in some cases, but i've had more luck with befriending them. Good luck getting him out! LOL.

Be more careful next time, since you're the one to blame for not making sure to visit towns that had a cleared void when you were at 9 villagers. You can always ask someone to clear their void if needed, you know.

Also calling out that person is rather rude of you. It's possible he had no idea you had 9 villagers or had no idea how the void system worked.

To be honest, the results regarding said methods of making a villager move out faster vary, and I can guarantee they all work... sometimes. I've had some villagers who came and went so fast without me being able to actually properly talk to them (i.e. Rosie, she was a random move-in and moved out after a week or two; I barely felt her presence). There were other villagers who I've become so close to and yet they'd ask me to move out every so often, it became annoying how I had to convince them every time to stay (i.e. Stitches, he's probably pinged me so many times already).
What I'd do is just talk to them whenever they moved in and never, ever talk to them again. Recently I found it easier to get rid of villagers I barely talked to. Depends on you what you feel is better, though.
(Or, y'know, you could just take your luck and time travel maybe a week later and see who's house is gone by that time lmao.)

Please don't throw the word "triggered" willy-nilly. Agitated is better.
And don't go around publicly humiliating others. It's not their fault you got Wart Jr. from their void; it's not like they wanted that to happen. Trying not to be rude isn't really hard.

It is your fault for not checking their void to see if it was clear when
you had 9 villagers... Pointing them out and blaming them for
your mistake is kinda childish and straight up rude...

you can easily get those flowers back... villagers homes
are not that big... only 3 by 3 if I remember correctly...
you can easily breed those tulips to get them back...

try to swimsuit trick... just dig holes around him so he can't move about
and just swim to edge of the map completely and sit there for about 5-10 minutes
then go back on land while trying to avoid over villagers and run past him...
if he doesn't ping try again...

I'm still not too familiar with this trick so I can't gangrene it will work

That trick's for getting PWP suggestions from villagers. ^^; (and tbh the dive trick is just a fancy way of saying "avoid villagers from seeing you, then run to them after a few minutes and try to get a ping" lol.)

That's not connected to the trick though. Every 3ish days a villager will ask to move out. The earliest a villager can ask to move out is after a 1 day gap from someones last move out ping.
The diving trick will not grant you any move out pings outside of the ones the game generates every 3ish days, so all that means is that you missed someone who would have wanted to move out that day anyway.
