i have been uh. quite vocal about my disdain for the gorillas lol and so it shouldn’t come as a surprise to anyone that when it came to my sanrio cards, rilla’s wasn’t one that i ever planned on using. @WhitBit changed that, though. back in march, she posted a thread stating that she’d be giving rilla a chance and even shared some cute photos of her. at first, i was apprehensive but i was quickly inspired to give rilla a chance as well and so, over two months later, here we are :’). she’s only been on my island for a few days so far but it’s been neat having her around and i’m glad that i decided to give her a chance.❤

its been a hot minute since i’ve posted in here, but hello everyone! i’ve spent the past month going on and off hiatuses while also trying to figure out what i want to do with this thing, and i think i’ve finally got it! i’ve switched up the aesthetic, revamped my introductory post and have decided on the sort of content that i want to share with you guys. it’s been a busy few weeks on my island, but i’m super excited to share a bit of what’s been going on, and am really happy to finally be posting again as well.
now without further ado...said goodbye to some friends...
but made some new ones as well!
bros i’m literally so sad about this xjkndod. about a week ago, i went on my longest island hopping session thus far, going through 103 nmts. the session finally came to an end after 3-4 hours when i ran into this cutie!!
i was genuinely so excited to have her but of course, my monkey brain had to go and ruin it ://. in my excitement, not only did i forget to save my game, autosave didn’t come through for me either so uh... i have someone’s voided del instead LOL.
he’s been on my island for about a week now and he actually isn’t all that bad! you can bet your ass that i’ll be hunting for friga once i can, though. ^^

to reese & cyrus’ dismay, i did not design a single wedding venue, reception or anything that they actually wanted, but i still genuinely had fun with trying to bring my ideas to life, no matter how unrelated to the event’s entire concept they were. i also used this as an opportunity to fool around with photo editing a bit or a lot, which i really enjoyed doing as well! but regardless, overboard or not, i’m so excited to finally be sharing these with you guys as i’m lowkey quite proud of them! :’)
i really hate how little effort i put into my designs last year. >_< though, i’m a bit fond of #4 and #5 as they show who was on my island at the time, which i always enjoy looking back on. it’s crazy how much things can change in a year.

man, i’ve really gotten bad at posting in here LOL, but hello everyone!
nothing particularly exciting has happened on my island since wedding season ended — the daily room decorating and photo editing honestly burnt me out quite a bit, so i haven’t been feeling very motivated to create or work on anything lol — but i’ve still got some stuff that i’d like to share!
over the past month or so, i’ve been trying to pay more attention to my villagers; not hesitating to take photos of them, listening in on conversations, etc as before, i would only really talk to them to see if they wanted any favours done or if they wanted my attention. don’t get me wrong, i’ve been able to bond with my villagers just fine, but me trying to put in more effort has really made me love them even more ... hence why this entry is essentially just a compilation of my villagers being their weird, adorable selves and me loving them for it haha.
some other stuff has happened since my last post, too, but my villagers were definitely the highlight of my july.

after months of helping out gulliver and breaking several shovels, he finally gave me the blue tam-o’-shanter!! the tam-o’-shanter is one of my favourite clothing items, so i’m thrilled to have all 4 variants! beau sent me a genuine mystic statue on this day as well.

xjsdjkdk hello everyone! august was a doozy of a month for me between going on yet another hiatus, trying to fight my depression and low energy off with a stick and attending camp bell tree, but i’m finally back and am feeling much better now!
august was admittedly way less eventful on axolotl than it was irl, but that’s part of why i appreciate my island and acnh in general so much. whenever reality is unpleasant and dull, axolotl stays hopeful and vibrant. it’s a place of sanctuary for me, even when all i do is go island hopping and attempt to photograph the heck out of my villagers much to their dismay.

a very deer disguise (hiking trip)
most people go camping to get in touch with nature or themselves, but not me — i go camping to see deers. they’re skittish creatures, ones that’ll take off at the quietest of sounds, so my outfit for this camping adventure isn’t your typical one; using a custom deer sweater, brown dress pants, reindeer hat, dog nose, brown frilly knee-high socks and black double-bridge glasses to create a makeshift deer costume, i pray that it’ll cause the deers to see me as one of their own and to not flee.
for a while, my only company are the tent that i’ve brought with me to sleep in, the binoculars that i use to see so that i can spot deers without getting too close to them, my pile of intensive deer research so that i have info about them with me at all times and the green leaves that i brought with me for the deers to snack on when suddenly, before my very eyes, a deer emerges and begins to eat the leaves!

hello, friends! i meant to have this posted weeks ago, but life decided it wanted to kick my ass for the rest of the year instead lol. i’ve also been trying to revamp my journal’s design, hence why it’s currently an aesthetic mess, and i wanted to have that done before posting anything new. however, i’ve decided to say “screw it”, since i really miss posting in here. i’ll also hopefully post a little more frequently now that i’ve simplified my post layout a bit.
september and the majority of october wasn’t all that eventful on my island for the most part, so this’ll pretty much just be another villager compilation post LOL, but i’ll be posting other things soon hopefully with 2.0 coming and me actually having some motivation to work on my island rn. <3
as always, i’ve said goodbye to some friends during the past two months, but i’ve made some lovely new ones as well.
i’ve obtained 5 new villager photos! i’m so happy with how my collection is growing.
unexpectedly caught a golden trout! i haven’t caught one since last year, so this was a very pleasant surprise! i’m hoping to catch 2 more so that i can commission a model of it. i should be able to do that by... the end of the century, maybe LOL. :’)

margie is literally so mean to lazy villagers LOL. she’s done this to almost every lazy villager she’s met.

whitney celebrated her birthday on sept 17th!! this gorgeous gal liked the gift i got her, and it warmed my heart so much to see sprinkle celebrating with her!
fuchsia celebrated her birthday two days after whitney did! she loved her present as well, but uh... her guest wasn’t as wholesome as sprinkle was.
i can’t decide on which is prettier in this photo — fuchsia or the rainbow.

leggy-bendy exercise
yesterday was actually somewhat of a productive day on my island (for once). i decided that i wanted to try working on my island entrance again, despite the decision i made last week to wait until the new update drops. i didn’t spend much time on it, but i managed to make a lot of progress!
...i removed the fountain and 4 bushes i put down last week. that’s it LOL.
i’d say that i’m gonna actually leave it alone for now this time, but knowing me, i’ll probably try to work on it again tomorrow *sigh*.
my hopeless entrance wasn’t enough to deter me, though, as i was really in the mood to work on my island yesterday. so, what did i do next, you ask? well... i impulsively got rid of one of my rivers!
it’s probably pretty obvious by now that i have no idea what i’m doing LOL, but i don’t regret it. it’s definitely gonna take me a while to get used to having so much more space to work with, but i think now i can finally start looking at the 1st level of my island as a whole, rather than the sections that it came in (does this make sense?).
anyways, impulsive and potentially disastrous terraforming aside, i also said goodbye to my dear
as i am with every departing villager, i was sad to see him go, but i was also super excited to hunt for and meet my new neighbour! i was initially going to wait until my series 5 amiibo cards arrived so that i could scan in new villagers that way, but what can i say, i love island hopping. :’)
and thankfully, my island hopping session went a lot better than my decorating/terraforming did, and i found this gorgeous gal on my 13th nmt!!
nothing too exciting has happened on axolotl over the past couple of days other than me demolishing all the bridges on the 1st level, trying to plan out my new river, and preparing to tt midge out. things are gonna be at a bit of a standstill on my island until the update drops, so enjoy this quick lil photo dump/island update in the meantime. :’)

the past week has been a rough one for me personally, but the update has really been helping me cope! i’ve especially been enjoying the DLC, which is a lil surprising as i’ve never cared much for designing any interior that isn’t mine. i’ve only been designing one dream vacation home per day so far, and i’m definitely not great at it, but i’m pretty proud of what i’ve done! i’ve also been given the rank of ‘promising designer’, and have yet to be yelled at by anyone, so i must not be doing too bad of a job. :’)

it didn’t even take beau an hour to ask to hang out after the update dropped — mans has been waiting for this since i stopped playing new leaf lol.
i wasn’t sure what to expect as i’ve done my best to avoid any and all spoilers, and oh my god??? i genuinely had such a fun time hanging out with him — everything about it was so cute!
we first played a card game together (that i of course lost).
he then asked me if i wanted to buy anything from him, and while my first response was “no”, him hitting me with this immediately changed my mind.
i feel manipulated.
but my favourite part was that when i left, he gave me a copy of his favourite song!! i was sobbing.
beau apparently had a great time as well since he barged into my house only a few hours later to hang out some more LOL. he brought me a pear, which may or may not have had me sobbing again.
