A villager you didn't expect to be popular and one you thought would?

I always knew Bob was insanely popular, but I never understood why that was. I do think he's alright but he's not terribly interesting. His face is a bit bland and I'm not too fond of lazies to begin with.
I think Annalisa and Diva are gorgeous, but I never hear anyone speak of Annalisa and Diva is always really hated by people around the community. I just love their little flapper-esque hairdos and make-up. No one talks about Eugene much, either, and he's one of the only animals with an accessory. Plus, he's a greaser koala, which is just about the cutest concept on earth.
Willow, too, so bright and pretty and nobody seems to give her as much love as the other sheep.

Yesyes, agreed! She's probably my #1 dream villager at the moment but I rarely see her mentioned at all.
I was surprised Marshal was popular. I got him in my first town and I thought to myself, "Wonder what kind of scrub has the name Marshal lel" and from then on I just kinda thought he was unpopular until I saw people paying millions for him. I still loved him, but I just thought people would be turned off by his house & name. I hope I can get him via campsite in my new town, haha.

I always thought Felicity should be more popular than she is. I mean the other adorable cats are top tier and I think she's just as cute as Rosie and Lolly. (don't get me wrong I love all 3, but I feel Felicity just got the short end of the stick)
One who I didn't think would be popular is Bam. I like Bruce and Lopez way more than Bam. He just looks awkward...

^ THIS! Felicity is absolutely adorable. ;A; I love her to death. I had both Rosie and Lolly before, and I honestly prefer Felicity way more.
I also agree with the Bam part. He was in my very first ACNL town and I had no clue that he was a high tier villager. ._. I used to hit him with my net and send him cruel messages, in hopes that would help him move out(He never did though. He stayed in my town until I reset... +_+ ).
Octavian and Francine, Octavian looked creepy and I thought the polka dot thing Francine has on her head looked stupid.
I was surprised that Roscoe wasn't more popular, he's a cranky black horse and the whites of his eyes turn yellow when he's angry. He was my first dream villager before I even got the game. Also, Bella the peppy mouse with a skull shirt. The peppy goth thing she has going on makes me think of Abbey from NCIS.
Deer villagers also seem insanely popular for some reason, they're cute and all but they don't appeal to me as everyone else... So of course that means I have great luck with getting half the deer villagers in the game. I guess they'll be useful to trade for my actual dream villagers but it seems like every time one moves out another moves in. Fauna's leaving? Here's Bam! Bruce is going? I bet you'd like Fuchsia! Fuchsia wasn't even in my campsite, that was just dumb luck.

Octavian and Zucker are hideous imo (and this is from someone who thinks RL octopuses and squids are adorable!), but I guess I can see the appeal of them being some of the few of their species in game.
Bob on the other hand totally baffles me. His design isn't good, he has an ugly house and room, and his catchphrase is annoying. To each their own I guess, but I just don't get his popularity.

Rosie and Beau's popularity is unexpected to me as they don't pop out to me very much.
I always wondered why Ribbot wasn't more popular, and Nan! Ribbot is fairly well liked but I pretty much expected a top tier for his design. Nan is just really cute and her colors are perfect. But personal opinions yeah.

it really surprised me - and still does- that Gala is not very popular. She's a cutie and her design is fairly unique. ` o`
