A trouble using FC reader to scan card to 3dsxl first time

Any help...can I not use it first day or do I have to scan a certain spot...feeling stupid...

Have you tried lightly placing the card on the reader rather than moving it over in a swiping motion?

Summon Wisp and then turn on your NFC reader and place an Amiibo card/figure on it. They should be sent to your 3DS.

You'd know if you found the lamp, so I guess not lol. After updating a day or more ago, just walk around until his voice summons you.
