As of Wednesday, September 30, 2020, at 12:00 p.m ET, I have a second Nintendo Switch which is about to arrive—it is the “Animal Crossing’ version—and I have received the shipping of a second game copy (retail) of “New Horizons.”

When it comes to having a Nintendo Switch Online (not sure of the wording) account, which allows me to host and visit other people, do I register the second with the first? Meaning, with more than one console, it is all under one account. Or do I have to have a separate account? Meaning, pay for a second account.

I don’t imagine I would have to pay for a second.

I just want to make sure.

And I get the sense at least one fellow Bell Tree Forums member—perhaps even a moderator—can make this clear.

Thank you!

you can do them both under the same account so you don't pay more
This exactly. I have two accounts synced to my Nintendo account and I can go online on my secondary switch easily.

word of warning, though: you cannot be online on both switches at once (for example, you want to host online on one island and visit on the other). You can have both communicate locally, however.
