A quick question about campers moving in

Hey everyone. I have been trying to TT Raymond out of my town (the sacrilege, I know) for 8+ hours and haven’t had any luck (he’s the most recent villager I’ve acquired island hopping, fyi). I believe I have a saving grace in Olivia, as she naturally offered to replace Raymond at my campsite.

My question is this: if I have Olivia replace Raymond, will Raymond be put in boxes and thus be recruitable by another player? I have someone who is waiting very patiently to pick him up.

Do they really say who they will replace?

It’s random and up to the villager, and I’m not sure how it’s decided, but they do say who they’ll replace.

Just figured out the answer:

If you invite a villager in via the campsite and are at max occupancy, the villager will speak with Resident Services and select a villager of yours at random to "kick out" and take their plot. Once this decision is made, the villager who will be moving out of your town is immediately put in boxes and can be recruited by another player to live on their island. Good stuff!
