So none of us want to loose our beloved villagers, but what if we want to TT to spring? Or maybe experience that lovely harvest festival once more? Heres a simple guide on how.

Step 1
TT two days ahead from your current time. Talk to all villagers and wait for a "ping" to see which villager is moving out. Continue the search until you find someone who is moving out.

Step 2
Make sure you say no to the villager who asks to move out, even if you want them to move!

Step 3
Save and quit immediatley, then TT however many days/months. No villagers will have moved out!

Happy travels : )

Sweet of of you to make a small guide for this, but there are a few corrections:

Step 1: TTing two days could end up with you losing a villager if that villager had already been thinking about moving for three days. So this isn't a safe thing to do unless you load up with a new character. If you want to TT to a certain date, the easiest thing you can do is to just TT to that date and load up with a new character. Has one of your villagers moved? Go back to the current date and stop that villager from moving. Has no one moved? Then you know it's safe to travel this far and you can load your mayor.

Step 2: I'm pretty sure you can actually tell them to move if you want them to; the most important thing is that the game doesn't get a chance to generate a new moving villager. If you tell them to go, they should be the only villager to have moved out after you've TT'd.

This is very helpful. It is also good for tting backwards if you haven't played in a while. Just tt to the day you last played in the 3ds activity log. Just deny a move before you quit playing.

i've been needing this for so long!! al thou i find making a new character very annoying!

I'm pretty sure that you don't need to TT two days. The easiest way is probably by setting the date ahead, using a new character to check if anyone is moving in the future, quitting without saving, and then using your mayor to stop that villager from moving in the present. Even if you decide to travel ahead two days, while that should be safe, there's always a chance that you may have missed out on a villager who is thinking about moving and that can make a difference, so I'd still recommend using a new character to check.

Using a new character to check also gives you the benefit of saving you time if nobody is thinking about moving at all.

Ah thanks ~ I was trying to do it without making a save file.

My friend did this and said yes, but then had a villager move in. However when I said no with 9 villagers, nobody moved out or in :)

That's not a rule, though. When you have 9 villagers, you can only get a random move-in from someone's void (otherwise you have to invite them), but anyone can move out. If you have 8 or less villagers, the game will try to move in at least one villager (until you have 9), but nobody will move out. So if nobody has any chances of moving out because you're below the limit, someone can move in, and if you're at not at risk of getting a random move-in, someone can still move out.

I agree with the two days thing. Best thing to do would be to say to TT six days forward on the system, and then do the new save file to check for the mover. Much more safer.

For towns with 4 houses you need to stop a mover before jumping ahead. Once you jump ahead you should check in with all your villagers for a rumor move or a request to move ping. I got one ten minutes into the game both times. Stopped the mover and collected two winter bugs. Jumped back to summer and everyone was there.

The activity log doesn't work if you have extra copies. I wrote the date last played on the game case and in my notes. Wrote the numbers on the game cartridge in the notes. The game cartridge went into the game case so I didn't play it by mistake.

Be careful with TT'ing two days forward I think. The game can only process one move-in or move-out at a time, so if a villager asks to move and you deny them or accept you are safe to TT as far in the future as you want. Also TT'ing back in time only counts as one day. :)
