A "good" town map?

I reset once, then found my map on the first one. I initially wanted a vertical waterfall but when I saw this map I knew I had to have it because of the open space. Besides, horizontal waterfalls are just as nice! I was just used to vertical. picture010.jpg

I'm not horribly displeased with my town, but I do wish I'd chosen one with a less curvy river. It would have made placing my extra houses a little easier, as well as fencing off areas for orchards/flower fields/parks a little easier.

Having Re-Tail near the beach would have been nice, but since I generally hit the Main Street shops after selling to Reese, it isn't that bad to have it right by my station.

Well personally I have like OCD with Animal Crossing so I had to reset a bunch of times just to get the map I liked. It only has one lake, Re-tail is right near the dock and beaches, the plaza and town hall are at a pretty good location, and the waterfalls are at a good location too. I have my house right near the beach, waterfall and a bridge. The only thing that kind of annoys me is the placement of a few rocks but eh I don't care much for those. Another plus is circle grass for when it snows it gives a cool design.

I wasn't that fussy about my map (it has 4 ponds...)
but I like it because it's different and not like everyone else's. If everyone had a plaza in the centre, a straight river and a re-rail near the beach it would just be boring

For me, a "good" town map is one that has a river that divides the town evenly, or at least has a lot of open space so I can do stuff like a park. Also the beach has to be whole.

I also prefer having the plaza near the Town Hall, or near the center of the town itself.

I'm not totally satisfied with my current layout, but it took me almost 30 tries to get something I remotely liked so I was like, "Yeah, I'll go with this one, and if I don't come to like it, I can eat me." I was getting annoyed with how obsessive I was being and having to put in my name and town name constantly. Dx

I have never reset my town since I got it on the day of the game's release. Personally, I'm fairly happy with my town map because of how easily accessible everything is. My river makes a small curve in the corner but then remains straight throughout, so my town is split down the middle. I like having it that way as opposed to the river slicing through the town in odd places.
