A few questions about resetting!!

So I'm a little confused about -exactly- what happens when you reset your town (ESPECIALLY if you sell it to Tom Nook). I have a few questions if anyone can help me out!!

So does your mayor just "travel" to a new town or do you have to create a new mayor character? What about your ID card, does it stay the same or do you make a new one? And what about the badges your mayor collected? Are they scrapped or do you keep them? Along those same lines, does your bug/fish encyclopedias stick around or do you have to fill it back up again?

I've heard that your PWP list stays the same, even after resetting. Is that true??

What about the things in your mayor's inventory/letters? Do they get wiped or remain? Also I remember in one iteration of AC when you reset your town the letters in the post office (along with any attached items) would still be there. Is that the case in ACNL also or not?

When you restart, your mayor is scrapped so that includes badges, inventory, encyclopedias etc. It's like you're a new character.

I don't know abou selling to Nook cause I restarted a few years before the update but I have heard your PWP list stays.

I just reset my town last night. You talk to Isabelle, she brings up Nook who offers to buy your town and then your catalog. I believe that you can keep the catalog if you don's sell it. Nook then gives you two choices for the money: Lump sum or installments. Lump sum goes straight to the ATM machine in your new town. Installments are mailed to you, but they earn a bit of interest. Your mayor character is wiped, you make a completely new character and town with no inventory or mail.

Everything your mayor did is wiped out.
However, if you choose to keep your catalog, once you upgrade your T&T store you'll be able to reorder stuff you previously owned, and the PWPs you had unlocked before are still on your list. However, Tom Nook will give you less bells if you choose to keep the catalog.

Are the PWP's linked to the catalog or independent- if you sell the catalog, do the PWP's get erased?

Hello! I just reset and can confirm, pwps are in fact kept when you reset! I bounced with joy when I found out! and if you sell your catalog, its wiped, but if you don't its all there to order from in your next town! I can only assume that if you sell the catalog you sell your pwps along with it, since its technically like a catalog?

Pwp is independent from the catalog. The catalog refers to what you buy at the Able Sisters, Kicks, Leif, and Nooklings. Pwp can only be gotten at random from Villagers and implemented by you via Isabelle.

So are the PWP's reset then? I know what they are, that they aren't in the nook catalog. I guess it's not a huge deal because I wanted a fresh start with no items catalogued but the PWP's would've been nice.
