Why certain topics are banned from discussion in this forum?

Why is it that these specific topics are chosen? I want to hear the justifications the staff/oligarchy have for this censorship of important things.

Feel free to wonder aloud or put forward a possible reason.

Take a look at most boards that debate these things and you'll see. Or... even YouTube. I've been involved in these kinds of debates more than anyone here, and my best judgment is that they should not be discussed here. Feel free to do so outside of the board... duh, you aren't confined by this one forum.

Take a look at most boards that debate these things and you'll see. Or... even YouTube. I've been involved in these kinds of debates more than anyone here, and I will make the best judgment and make sure they will not be a part of TBT. Keep them outside of the board.

Why can't we all just talk till things get out of hand? No need to lock a thread with a decent discussion going on if it isn't out of hand...

and If I remember correctly, political discussions aren't allowed here, and I've actually seen you posting in political topics...

Political topics are not as bad as religious ones. I was considering supporting a change to that rule and making it a lot less restricting (right before that thread)... but most of you proved that you can't handle / or shouldn't be involved in these kinds of discussions. We'll see though...

You're basing this off of what you want to talk about, and not the community as a whole... shouldn't it be the opposite..?
