In the less than a month that I've been here I've sold to probably 20ish people. And I've noticed that some of them will offer me 300k, and then drop off 297k (example) and I've been thinking about it and I'd like to take a vote. Is 99k and 100k the same to you? What of it's a 10 million bell purchase?

For the former, I don't care, I understand. As for the latter, anything above ~2m then I'd like to see all of the money.

i make them charge full but they do it because bags can hold up to 99k not 100k

If it's a small purchase (1mil or below) I usually don't care since it's a small amount of money I'm not getting.

If it's purchases such as the 10 million example you put down, the 1k bells from each 99k bell bag that was dropped will add up quickly... You'll end up missing out on 100k or so bells if you're doing really big purchases.

So, IMO, it begins to matter if you're doing big purchases. I usually don't mind if it's small amounts, since I can just make those bells back by selling a fossil or something.

And I understand that, but if you're picking it up from the bank you can literally type in the amount (if it's under about 1.5 mil and their pockets are empty) so why not?

When I sell I usually say 5 bags of 99k or whatever. It amazes me when I say 100k how many people can't figure out how much makes the difference. Something big they should pay full price.

Other way for me, when I sell something small (1mill/etc) I want to see all of the money, only lately because I need all the bells I can get to fund my new towns. But otherwise I don't really care, especially if it's big price. But I do understand why most want all of the bells.

Honestly, I like to see all the money, it doesn't matter the transaction. If it's 100k I don't want a 99k bell bag. It's not the same.

no if i am selling you something worth 100k, you will give me 100k or else ur a lil scammer.

if you give me 99k i will give you a negative rating. its called punctuality xo

If you have something small, like 300k. Sell something at retail and have them buy it. Then they have no choice but to give you the full 300k. For me.. only missing 3k isn't much of a big deal, but if they're saying they'll pay 300k, they should pay what they say.

I pay the full amount. It just takes an extra 3,000 bag or whatever sometimes in addition to the 99s.

the part i do not get is why they go to the bank to get the exact amount but usually i give them more

I care about every single bell... so I want every single bell there.
I mean, if you are missing 1k from a PWP the game isn't gonna be like "Oh! Well! Close enough! Lets go ahead a build it!"
...
Anyways...
So, that is why I check all money before I end the session.
And I will wait for them to check as well before I even mentioning "farewell"

BUT
Normally if someone offers 100k on something, no matter what it is, and I agree to it, I NORMALLY end up just saying "let's do 99k for an easier drop" to make things simpler.
Otherwise, I would like my bells please.

If the deal was 100k then the person should drop 100k. I sometimes tell people that 99k bags are okay when I do trades depending on the amount, but I would never only give someone 99k if our agreement was 100k.

Except that would just be another bag. :P Arguably the most you could miss out on is 98,000 bells, which is still significant.

I've never sold anything. I've only bought things or given away things. But I always pay the missing bells. :/ If I say I'm going to give you 300k, then I'm going to give you 300k. Maybe it's better though to ask for 297k rather than 300k, lol. idk. I wouldn't think to do that.

Like, Salem said, the most you'd lose would be 98,000, because otherwise it's another bag you're going to drop anyways, like paying 9,990,000 Bells for something. If you just dropped 99 bags you'd be a full bag short, which is something I don't think most people would do, since, well, yeah, it's another bag you'd normally drop.

I personally wouldn't care if it's just a few thousand short, though.

I usually try my best to give all the bells I promised to pay, but with my non-existent math skills I sometimes pay too much so I end up dropping another 10k bag. xD

For this, I still vote 100k, because that's usually what's been agreed on. Unless the trader says "just do 99k" then 99k is okai, but more often than not I prefer to pay full.

For big purchases, it's way better to use Re-Tail for that kind of stuff. Place flowers or fruit as 999,999k (or whatever price stuff is) in your Re-Tail and ask the person to buy them. The money goes straight to your account, and the payer doesn't need to drop bags, which takes time, and the seller doesn't need pick up bell bags and deposit to the ABD. Plus you know everything will be accounted for by simply counting the flowers to sell/sold, etc etc. This is especially good for towns with elaborate paths that leave no space to drop bell bags.

Oh and for 10mil purchases that would be... 10bells you're gonna miss out on? xD Even better than 1k from a 99k bag.

I usually purposely sell things at 99k instead of 100k for this reason. I don't care over a few bells. I only care about the majority of the sum. Then again I've never sold stuff past 1m.
