idk if theres a thread for it somewhere but omg i just played the first game and i LOVE it.
omg i was so happy akane was saved =oo and i liked the little memory scene where junpei was beaten up as a kid. though i wonder what wouldve happened if akane never went back to get her doll junpei gave her.

i looooove clover thooo..
im gonna pick up the next game too probably bc omg

Amazing games.
The reveal that the bottom screen was little Akane's narration the whole time, blew. my. mind. Then they flipped the screens for the last puzzle? Wow. (also i like sudoku so that was a cool last puzzle.) And the whole timeline thing, where they have to go on the right path or Akane will paradox out of existence? Whoa.
Excellent use of the double screens like I've never seen before.

akane and clover are baes
i love akanes and lotus' beta designs HHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

i need to play the second game too bc its zero escape and clover looks hecka cute!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

omg aaaah please play the second game as well! I loved 999 and I finished Virtue's Last Reward months ago, it's really good game! Even my NNID is a reference to VLR :p You'll definitely enjoy it if you liked 999. It's a shame the third/final game might not ever be made because, although it's popular overseas, it's not selling very well in Japan :(

I think I liked Snake and Eight the most in 999, but its been years so I don't remember much about it.
The Axe ending will always haunt me, unfortunately....

Sub ending- made me cry
Axe ending- I dont wanna see it so i reset the game
Knife Ending- axe is more scarier

I just re-watched the true ending. I forgot how good this game was, I'm glad I completed it without being spoiled. The only thing they NEVER explain is...

What was the reason behind Seven's sudden headaches in the incinerator during the True Ending. Were those even real headaches? I'm pretty sure he was in cahoots with Akane and Aoi.

I think the whole amnesia thing was left ambiguous. It kind of implied he might've been in on it but I don't think the developers really confirmed either way.

i enjoyed all the endings tbh. theres an ios exclusive ending that scared me tho lmao

alsoooo about snake..minor spoilers of the 2nd game
i DO think he was in it. how does he not notice clover disappears and gets frozen or whatever?? i havent played the 2nd game but from what i heard hes kinda forgotten. so did he even try looking for his sister who was missing for like, 30 years or did he know about it from the start and knew she was safe???

Oh gosh, both Zero Escape games are in my top games list! Loved them both to bits! Aching for the 3rd game but just really bummed that even if we do end up getting it at some point, it'll be a long while to wait. I would send money to Uchikoshi himself to help fund the game if it was possible. Just wish the entirety of Japan would see how great these games are & sell like hotcakes there, not just overseas. ;__;

I'd like to thank everyone in this thread for putting the endings under spoilers, as I have not completed either game.
I bought both of them upon seeing that my local Gamestop had used copies in stock. I've been looking for them for a really long time because I've heard nothing but good things about them.
As of now, I really love 999! Great story concept and art style.

Does anyone have the digital version of VLR? How many blocks does it use?

Wait, there's an iOS exclusive ending? Would you mind telling me what it is?
He may have been informed earlier (he'd probably go crazy if she's kidnapped like what happened in the first game) but I don't think he'd agree to his sister participating in the project... Or maybe he agreed because Alice is with her? Maybe we'll see him in the third game.

According to what I heard, 999 was too scary for them and they didn't like how the writer reused plot points/twists from his previous work (I played one of his older work before and can confirm this). I guess Spike would rather focus on Danganronpa :(

Glad you managed to find both games! I hope you'll enjoy it :D

@justice: 6,560, a bit higher than the digital version of ACNL
I recommend getting the cartridge version though if you can find it. As much as I love VLR, I already completed the game and have no need to replay it (except to get the funny dialogue when you play it on easy) so it's taking space in my memory e_e unless you bave bigger SD cards, then feel free to go digital.

I'm pretty sure that there sre no Youtube videos of it, so...
Right after Junpei went through door 3 in the infirmary...

Junpei: Damnit, I lost her!

He took a step toward the stairs, muttering angrily to himself--
Then suddenly, Junpei felt a sharp pain in his neck.
As if he'd been stabbed by a needle, or...

He tried to spin around, but his body refused to respond.
The attempt at movement was enough to disrupt his balance, however, and he staggered and fell, tumbling down the stairs to a landing.

Or rather, into a pool of water several feet deep that had gathered above the landing.
He felt his body begin to sink.
Straining to keep his head above water, Junpei finally saw her.

Clover.
She was reaching out for him with her left hand, an eerie smile frozen on her face.

Clover: Here, take my hand...
Junpei: Clover...
Junpei: What... what did you...
Clover: Just a little injection. That stuff Ace took? I got some from his pocket.
Junpei: There... there was more...?
Clover: Mm-hm.

Junpei opened his mouth to try and ask why...
But there was no point.
He already knew.

Junpei had left Clover and Lotus, and gone through door [3].
The body on the other side of that door had been Snake's.
Clover likely thought Junpei had killed him. It wasn't a difficult jump to make.

...Or perhaps losing her brother had simply driven her insane.
The cold, vacant look in her eyes would have made Junpei shiver, if he wasn't already paralyzed and about to die.

Clover: What are you doing? Hurry up and grab my hand.

The injection she'd given him seemed to have worked its way to Junpei's brain.
Thinking was becoming increasingly difficult, and everything felt... indistinct.

Clover: You idiot! Why would I help you?!

The last thing he heard was the soft gurgle of water as his face dropped beneath the surface.

As he sank, he could see Clover's face getting further and further away.
The water twisted and distorted it into something that barely seemed human.

Woah, thank you so much for writing the transcript! I was expecting a short summary but this is much better :D
Another Clover end? I guess the devs knew how popular the Axe ending were. I can't remember what she meant by Ace's drugs though, last time I played was 4 years ago. Is there more extra content than the exclusive ending? If I had an iPhone I'd buy the game again T_T

I think it's iOS exclusive from what I read on the wiki.. Anyway, if you go through door 3 and leave Lotus and Clover behind then when you come back Clover gets the syringe Ace has and stabs you with it. You fall into the pool of water on the D floor I believe and drown and yeah you die. I think she does it because she was angry you left her behind and probably is gonna kill anyone like she did in the axe ending.

edit: Oh someone posted it above. Ugh why can't I see spoilers on mobile.
I prefer physical but there's no physical copies anywhere around me. Nearest store that has it is like a 40 min drive, so no thanks. I usually delete digital games after I'm done with them anyway.

Oh, I see. I've never played any of his older work so I wouldn't know about that. D: It's a shame that Spike would like to focus more on Danganronpa as the ZE series is great but I can sort of understand that if it's not going to sell in Japan, they won't really consider it. ;_; Not that I'm not saying Danganronpa shouldn't be getting the focus it's getting - I've played the first game & currently playing the second & I'm really enjoying them! Just feel really sad that Uchikoshi can't finish his series because of funding issues.
