9 hours of villager resetting. Woo. Hoo.
I am so exhausted, in my second town I've been trying to villager reset for one of my dreamies, to no avail. Looks like I'll be continuing this torment tomorrow.
It's awful because:
I had to pass up Mira, as her plot was in front of my house. Resetting the game hurt.
Wolfgang showed up, and I could've settled for him instead of Fang. But, once again, whaddya know? Terrible house placement. Right in front of a vital area.

It's really difficult to villager reset this early in the town. No PWPs, and loads of inconvenient spaces they can go. I really want to get a jump start on obtaining dreamies. I am hoping it'll be worth it in the end!

Tell me about some of your traumatic villager experiences in the meantime! Whether it be plot resetting, villager resetting, cycling, campsite resetting, whatever! Just vent!
I'll update this tomorrow once I start the vicious resetting process again. :(

Oh I was resetting a good 7 hours for beau. It was a difficult spot really, I normally move villagers into spots where the previous villager moved out from. He was going into a new area and it was a nightmare. The majority of the time he was on the other side of town. I think I got him near to where I wanted just 3 times. On the 3rd I gave up and left him where he is now. It's close enough, not ideal as I did have to redo around his house to make him fit in. That's the longest I've ever spent resetting, I know some people go for weeks but it would drive me mad.

A way around this could have been before you started and for future reference you do have pwps you can place in places you know you don't want villagers to move into. Then just remove them later. For example the fountain and street light can be used greatly for this. They aren't pwps that you need a villager to request and yes the fountain costs more but I always like placing one in front of my house. It always works out well there. Then you could place the street light in various areas that you know where you don't want anyone. They are not permanent and if you are low on bells it very easy to earn the 50k by just going to the island and snagging a few beetles and sharks. It's a better alternative then spending hours where you already know you are not going to want anyone to move to. Yes, there is planning involved but me personally I would rather make things as easy on myself as possible so I don't spend those long hours resetting. Just a suggestion that I have used personally.

Edit:I also wanted to note that there is a thread on here titled the art if precision resetting or something like that. It was a huge help to me as it points out why even if a villager had previously been in a spot where you want your next villager to be it can become like a dead spot if there are arc points that intersect. Villagers can't actually move into just any spot that you may want.

I'm going through this struggle right now. Resetting for plots/villagers when you have 8 villagers is the worst. My town is quite new too and I haven't had 10 villagers yet. It's good because it helps to narrow down the personality of the villagers you're going to get next (eg if you have no smugs, you'll get smugs), but since their plot is so random and you can't plot reset for a specific villager it's so frustrating. I prefer plot resetting after inviting a camper or adopting a villager.

I have been plot resetting marina for ithink 5 or 6 days now, about 6-9 hours a day.. And about 10 times now, she has plotted just one space away from the spot i want her >.>

aww I was going to do that for my 7th move in but it turned out I got Paula from someone's void lmao
Good luck ;;

Jesus Christ... 9?! That's absolutely ridiculous! Longest I spent was 3... and that was for Bianca and it wasn't even the spot I wanted lolol

Thank you, everyone... it's truly a struggle! :(

The thing is, I JUST started my town. I'm not even approved as mayor yet. It's the second day, where one of the 3 personalities you don't have move in. I would put PWPs if I could.

Hm I dont think i'd bother with villager resetting. There's just too many things that can go wrong even on the off chance that you get one of the villagers you really want :/ Id just hunt for the dreamie later on and plot reset (which could take just as long but you know..)

Yeah, but I really prefer getting my dreamies myself. I can bear, I've done it multiple days before with Wendy. Yikes!
