On the island hop that I found Sherb on, Spike was on the first island and I was actually kinda tempted to take him because his design has actually grown on me from seeing him in Hobowire’s avatar lol. I might still consider him later on before settling with the last dreamies I want for my island since I want to collect some villager pictures (and his poster) and I don’t have his amiibo card.
The five villagers I’d pick:
1. Lolly - since I really don’t think I’m going to have room for her unless I find her before Marshal or Ankha and even then I might let her go for them maybe.
2. Gaston- I think he was a starter in NL or one that moved there very early since I remember initially not liking him but I ended up not only liking him but let him stay (I think; it’s been too long since I last played NL) as a permanent resident. I really don’t like his NH house interior though; he has one of the worst interiors
3. Claude - I don’t have an amiibo card of him. I liked him since I saw him in HHD and the furniture that came with him

4. Frita - I need a new uchi and I have always liked her design. I had her in my town in Nl but I don’t remember how I felt about her.
5. Dotty - the only villager I remember having in one of the older AC games. Would love to have her again. The only problem is that I’m sick of the peppy dialogue from having 3 peppies.
Runner ups: Big maybe - Puddles - she was my best girl villager friend in NL and was a starter I initially didn’t like as well; the only thing is when I invited her to my campsite, she gave me an entirely different puddles vibe (probably because of the new dialogue) that I didn’t care for.
Hornsby - another guy that has grown on me thanks to people posting pictures of him on here. I initially didn’t like most of the rhinos. I don’t think I have his amiibo card either.
Tom, Moe, and/or Mitzi - can’t go wrong with more cats in my town.
