Contest topic: "Happiest place on Earth"
When I think of the happiest place on Earth, I picture sun. I don't even know where this place is. What I picture, isn't exactly anywhere I've been before. I picture lots of people, having fun with family. I picture the sun beaming on a beach and everyone being nice to each other. People share with others and don't even comprehend the term nastiness. It could be imagined as heaven, if that's what you believe. But I hope that one day, the picture I imagine comes true.

For me personally, it is where my family is and when they're happy. This is going to sound a bit soppy, I wish I could put it under a read more lol. But my family mean the world to me, and my mum who is my best friend as well as a mother. Her happiest place specifically would probably be in the Scilly Isles, which is where we grew up and often go on holiday to. It's a few tiny islands, very English, with a lovely little community of people where everyone knows each other and is passionate about living there and fishing and working and keeping going. I don't get the same vibe from my home town, that's for sure.
Being there with my mum and seeing her happy and smiling it makes me happy and smiling too (smiles are contagious after all!)
But then again, even if we're not there specifically, as long as my family is happy then I'm happy too.

For me, I would never imagine I would say this, but I would like to say the place would be my home in my home country, Singapore. I know, its cliche and all. I first thought the same way too. Not till I traveled alone to another country for studies and the first time in my life learn to live alone and do everything alone. Its hard, especially when your parents and siblings are no longer there for you. The first year was so hard for me, I cried almost every month when I think of the few hundred thousand miles between me and them. But I'm getting used to it now I realized that eventhough we're hundred thousand miles apart, our hearts is with each other. I just really want to tell everyone here that don't take everything for granted because once everything is gone you will regret for what you could have done earlier when you have the chance.

Contest topic: It might sound mundane, but the happiest place I can remember is my best friend's house from highschool. Her bedroom was probably the best part. There were red-on-red stripes on the walls (that I helped her paint on) and we would drink tea and sit on her bed and watch shows on her laptop. There's no one else on Earth I spend time with now that will, without fail, drink tea with me. Her parents would always let me stay for dinner and eat their home-cooked meals, too. They had classic family-style dinners where everyone would sit at a table to eat, and that was unique to me because I grew up eating dinner on the couch.
