How is the new 3DS compared to the original? Is the 3D really better? I kind of want to buy one, but I don't want to spend the money if the 3D is exactly the same as the original 3DS.

I like how it looks though. I like the color of the buttons and how you can change the platelets to customize the look. Very nice :)

The 3D is a lot better. You can view it from any angle thanks to the face tracking, whereas the regular 3DS you have to look at it straight on to get the proper 3D view.

Awesome! I hated the 3D on the 3DS. I never used it. You have to stay perfectly still or else migraines will be had.

The 3D on the N3DS works on a moving bus. I know this because I have extensive experience with this, haha.

Aside from that, the processing power is much better, the extra buttons are really handy for some games, and it has the built-in NFC reader for amiibo.

To be honest, I bought it for the extra processing power, but the other features are definitely great, too.

I got the New3DS with the Happy Home Designer bundle, and honestly I don't really notice much of a difference. I don't use the 3D function on my DS (Gives me a headache Dx) and besides a few design changes its pretty much the same.__.

I was totally against buying a New3DS XL, it's too big for me to play on comfortably. I took the opportunity and got the bundle so I can play New3DS Games without having to buy a big system cx

The 3D is not better or something, it is just easier to see. The effect is still the same. It is a huge plus however sincd it was an enourmous struggle to get the angle of your 3DS just right to be able to see the 3D effect. Besides that, it is obviously better than the older 3DS models but older models aren't lacking any major features, so if the price difference is quite big then i would say go for the old model. The new one is better but can be more expensive depending on where you live. Because where i live, the newer models are actually cheaper than the older ones.

I personally see it this way. You should buy a New 3DS if:

- you want to play Xenoblade
- you play Smash Bros on 3DS a lot
- you don't already have a 3DS
- your 3DS is broken and you need a new one anyway

Otherwise, I don't think buying it is really necessary.

How decent is the battery life in the new 3ds compared to the 3ds?

Definitely better. I kept my old 3DS and it dies a fair bit more quickly than the N3DS.

As for the 3D, I love it on the N3DS. I rarely, if ever, used it on my old one. It was a pain and just didn't work well for me. The face tracking on the N3DS is awesome. I like that it's a little bigger but not as big as the XL, too. The face plates are super cute too. I'm really glad I got a N3DS. I didn't think the differences would be that impressive until I had one. I like it a lot.

I like the New Nintendo 3DS XL! I have that one in red and been using it for a couple of months now and no problems with it so far, but it all comes down to preferences again. If you like good fit on your controls or better angles for the 3Ds effect, camera quality, wide screen, regular screen etc... I think a wide screen window is luxuous xD
