3DS vs New 3DS

Hey guys, I'm sorry if this isn't the right place or there's already a thread like this, but I have a bit of a dilemma.

So, I had gotten confused and had asked for a New 3DS for Christmas, without realizing it wasn't even OUT yet here. When I was told it's not coming until 2015, I was sorely disappointed. I then removed it from my list, considering it won't be out.

What I really wanted was just an XL of any sort; the only thing that concerns me about getting an old XL is the fact that there are going to be "New 3DS Only Games" (what a bunch of **** lmao). So what do you guys think?

Should I get a regular old XL for Christmas, or should I wait and try to get a New 3DS XL for my birthday or something else like that? :/ Thank you all for your help!

Just ask for money and buy the New 3ds when it comes out.

If you already have a 3ds , a few months more won't hurt, especially when you would get more for your money with the New 3DS. Seeing as it is the same price as the current one.

Personally, I think the New 3ds is lame.

But it's obviously going to be a big thing because it's Nintendo. I don't feel like I need to explain.

If there is a New 3DS XL, I suggest you get that. XD If not, stick with the New 3DS

What do you mean if? It's one of the standard models.

I agree with Zuko. Just wait for the New 3DS to come out and buy it then. You'll pay the same amount of money and also profit from the various upgrades made to the system.

You could always ask for a preorder, or the money to put towards it, for Christmas. I've done that in the past when there have been items I've wanted coming out after Christmas.

They aren't replacing the 3DS, just making a better model. It's like the DSi to the old DS. I don't know what you mean by that last sentence, though.

I'm personally not a fan of the new model and my birthday is in two weeks anyways, so I'm going to get an XL to replace my current 3DS, since it's nearly 3 years old at this point.

well, unfortunately, nobody really knows what exclusive games its going to have besides the one. that makes me so goddamn paranoid lmfao..,,, so ill just go for it just in case. i hate how they play on my anxiety like this >:'c
