Good evening, everyone! We have an egg hunt announcement! An additional clue for egg #21 will be posted Monday at 6 PM EDT if it hasn't been found by then. The egg hunt will also be extended until Tuesday morning at 10 AM EDT.
It really depends. The regular 3DS is cheaper so that would do great if you are on a particular budget. However, the screen is not as big unlike the XL. The 3DSXL is more expensive, but it comes with the advantage of having a larger screen.
So the real question here is do you find the screen of the regular 3DS comfortable to play on? In which case, the regular 3DS is fine; otherwise the XL is the one you want.
Minor issue with 3DS XL, is that AC NL looks a tad more pixelated then the regular 3DS. But maybe thats just me?
But still XL all the way. The larger screen is amazing, the matte finish is nice, the 3ds slider and start/home/select button are better, longer battery life is always a good thing. Definitely worth the $200 (although im sure you can find it as a slightly cheaper price somewhere)
I got a the XL and it looks fine with AC. I'm able to see things a bit more clearly like small bugs yet it doesn't make it pixlated. Some games look horribly pixly. But AC NL isn't one of them. Nor is pokemon xy. But black and white (2) are horrendous!
I have all 3 versions of the new DS. Regular 3DS, 3DS XL and the 2DS. Out of all the XL is my favourite. 2 DS is my least favourite.
As for weight the 3DS XL is only about 3.5 oz more but so much better for visual. I think its worth it to get the XL. Look around for a sale to get it close to the DS price. So much more bang for your buck
