It is 15.00 on ebay is it a good deal? Or should I get a smaller one? It's for my 3ds. Would 16 gb be enough? Also should I invest a little more money for a class 10? I'm also planning on getting the new 3ds xl and I heard they might only be micro sd card. I need the sd card for some more space on my 3ds. I don't download games that much.

buy a micro sd card and use an adapter, thats what my 3ds is using right now since it was my old phone's micro sd card. I dont think you really need a class 10 for 3ds xl. And if you download a lot of digital games , i would suggest going 32gb just because it's better to have more room than not.

If you're not downloading a bunch of large games or DLC, just go with the 16 gb and start saving up for a 16 gb or 32 gb micro for the New 3DS.

Right now I have a 16GB SD card, and I've downloaded a few huge games on it and still have plenty of room on it, so I'd suggest probably getting a 16GB. Unless you're going to be downloading even more huge games onto it then maybe a 32GB one would be something to look into.

I honestly think you should spent a few extra dollars and go for the more well known brands such as Kingston, Sandisk, Samsung, etc. These are going to support your digital games no? and if your sd card is some china knock off, im sure the chances of corrupting may be higher.

As people have said before as long as your not downloading a huge amount of data (Games, DLC, etc) get a 16GB SD Card. This is what I have (The brand is SanDisk btw) and I still have plenty of room. Best choice is to get a brand you know that is safe, secure, and well made (Don't go cheap if its something you care about, and you wouldn't mind if you lost the SD Card's data). I picked SanDisk as I own many flash drives from this brand, use them often, and they have never failed me once.

Yes that is a very good point but I'll just go with the 32 gb because the price difference is only 2.20 so Double the space for 2.00. So Sandisk works for you? I was either going to do Sandisk or Toshiba as the 3dses come with a Toshiba one.

I've had issues with every SanDisk I've ever had. They may be better quality now-days but before they were always failing on me. Honestly? Someone stated to get a Micro with an adapter in case you plan on getting the new 3DS. This is a great idea because of how versatile they become. Not only could you use the adapter on your 3ds, but you can get a usb adapter and pop it right into your computer, if you have an android you can use it on your phone.. etc.

For a while I had a micro with a Memstick duo adapter for the PSP that I switched with the 3DS and a SD adapter all the time. It kept it really, really simple to keep all my saved games and even transfer files to my phone and tablet whenever I needed it.

I do recommend going with the larger size though. You never know when you may need to use the card for something else, even just a quick file transfer and don't have anything else laying around that will do the trick. Games and media are only getting bigger in size, so it's always a good idea to get the biggest you can so that you're not left with having to get another card later down the road, especially when you have the money for one right now.

So should I get the Toshiba one? There's a link on page 1. Also what problems did you have?

I don't see anything wrong with the Toshiba. I did a quick search and it looks like it should work just fine with your 3DS. You'll want to make sure that you reformat the card in your computer when you get it before trying to use it with the system, as they tend to not work right out of the box sometimes.

With SanDisk I had quite a few issues, keep in mind this was 4-6 years ago when I was very attached to my digital camera. I had 6 different SanDisk cards die or corrupt after only a month or two of use. I thought it was my camera, but testing it on my Ps3, PC, and other electronics proved that it was actually the card causing the problem. Like I said, it was a long time ago, but I still don't trust the company.

hm... I did a little research and people are saying sandisk works great on the 3ds. :P Also if I use a Sandisk will my warranty be void. I think probably not but making sure. Because the 3ds comes with the Toshiba. http://www.nintendolife.com/forums/3ds/suggested_3ds_sd_card

If they're better than they were I don't see why not.

Also, any memory card is considered an external piece of hardware, or a peripheral. That's like saying using skull-candy headphones on an iPhone will void your warranty. A memory card doesn't house the 3DS's operating system, and the 3DS is built in a way that allows you to remove the card and swap it out for another kind. I don't believe it would void the warranty at all. If it was a nintendo-brand card that was built into the system, that would be a different story.

ah ok. Do you think this is legit also what's the difference between class 4 and 10? http://jqlwonline.com/store/page117.html

It's hard to tell if a company like that is legitimate. I would stick exclusively with Amazon, Newegg, or Compusa for hardware as you never know what you're going to get otherwise.

The Class on an SDHC is the 'speed' categorization they're given. It's not something you have to worry about when dealing with a 3DS since the OS locks the data transfer rate. It's most likely going to be a waste of money to get anything above a class 4 because of this. However, if you want to use the card on other things then you're going to have to figure out what those things are and make a decision from there.

I recommend reading this article for any further questions about the cards.
