Hiya guys. So, I've always wanted a second copy of ACNL, because I think it'd be great to have two towns. And thankfully, I will be getting my precious second copy sometime this week. I'm super excited. ♥
So this got me thinking. For those of you with 2 or more copies of ACNL, why did you get it/them? Do you play the game differently while on your side towns? Do you like the option or do you think it's overwhelming to check in on both (or more) towns?
Personally, I want this second one so I can goof off and experiment with it. I'm going to be doing a crap ton of time traveling, I might even start a Villager Cycling thread, and I'm just basically going to be naughty with it. I love AC, always have and always will, and in my main town, I've taken pride in the fact that I've done everything 'fairly' and 'by the real world clock' and what have you.. But honestly, it'd be so damn fun to just relax and let loose and do whatever I want in my second one and just tear things up. >B| I'm also going to have a male Mayor in my second town, so I can experiment and see what the games like from a male character perspective.
I have four towns. I play them all the same. Usually I'll play two one day the other two the next day.
I got them because I had many ideas for different towns.
i use my 2nd town as a cycling town but i plan on restarting it soon :3 and yeah i've done everything in my main town without tting so having a cycling town is nice because of the tting and stuff opening quicker but if you have a short temper then you probably shouldn't start cycling. people are disrespectful and constantly don't read the rules which is annoying.
I have three towns, each with a different theme and its own purpose.
My main town I play normally (when I'm not trying to complete the 16 cycle, that is...).
My second town is my TTing town. This is a permanent town where time is inconsequential: seasons change and villagers come and go.
My third is my resetting town. The start of a new town is pretty fun and I like seeing which maps and villagers spawn each time.
i actually just got a 2nd copy of ACNL yesterday! i wanted a second town because when i started my first copy, i had no idea what i was doing - i have an awful map (i can't even build a 2nd bridge), no space for PWPs, bad placement of houses/buildings, etc. but i put so much time into that first copy, and i'm too attached to my villagers - i couldn't bring myself to reset.
basically, i'm going to play my 2nd copy "right" and try to make it a beautiful, successful town c:
Nope, only have the one copy. I'd love to have a second copy to help people get their dreamies or villagers for myself, but I have more important things to spend my money on.
I got my second copy recently in fact. I got a better 3ds xl for my birthday and decided to buy a second to help others and myself with villagers, turnip prices, duping.
Even though my second town has a theme to it I don't have the time to make it look better. Villager move in and out all the time since I have been TT a week ahead and I don't want to start worrying about things I already worry in my main town. So I use my second copy when I am in need of it really. I don't have the time to take care of two towns. My second copy is only useful when I need it. Though I would love to have a second town because I have ideas for it I just don't have the time so the town will live on my dreams. Like monk said there are some people that don't read the rules so you should beware of that. It up to you though what you will do to your second town. Remember that is your town and you're to do what you want with it
I have a second town about a month ago. I TT on it a lot, I'm trying to cycle through villagers to get my last few dreamies on my main town and also I'm trying to fill it with weeds so I can get the weeding badge for my main character. I feel after I have the weeding badge and my dreamies achieved on my main town, I'm going to start again on my second copy and try to maybe do a themed town. c:
I would never own a second copy. I'm quite happy with just owning one game and having one town and I wouldn't want to waste my money on a game I already have.
I have a second copy, and the only difference in the way I play it is that I have no dreamies and don't plot reset. I feel like I have more freedom to find cool villagers with two towns.
I own a second copy, but only because I found a really old walmart giftcard that had 30 bucks on it... so I only paid like 5 for the game. I use it for cycling but I honestly haven't touched it in about a month. I want to keep cycling for a bit but I may restart it and play it as I would my main town.
