They should add a dry and a wet season in animal crossing for players living near the equator. I mean they were able to do the northern and southern hemisphere, so I don't see why not? By doing this it can make it more realistic.
I live in the Philippines. So it's just wet and dry season here. But I'd rather experience the seasons in this game because we don't even experience fall or winter here. It's like 50% summer heat and 50% summer rain.

I think it's fair to want more realistic weather, can't relate personally since I hate the weather here and find it very boring. Temperate weather is pretty balanced, and snow is magical. I play in the NH even because I want to be able to retreat into the snow when we have heat waves, and summer is nice in the winter. I also wouldn't ever see cherry blossoms here. Well, that's just how I feel.
I think it could be a totally doable feature now they ask about hemisphere. Maybe based on latitude, several different weather profiles.
I'm in Southeast Asia, one degree north of the Equator, and we get rain and sun all year round. It's always too hot. I swear my brain is a nice golden brown by now, after decades of baking in the heat. But no, I do not want more realistic weather because this game is my escape. I want to experience the four seasons. I've travelled to many countries to experience different cultures and, of course, the different seasons. But this year I'm stuck at home, no thanks to the pandemic. I hope to travel again when it's safe to do so.
To me, a game should be immersive, not necessarily realistic. I'm fine with ACNH being what it is in terms of weather.
