Hello!

I was just wondering how everyone did their 16 Villager Cycles. I just lost Zell about an hour ago and I have Kyle in my cycle town waiting for me to finish my cycle so I can move him back in.

I'm looking for the quickest way to do it, without loosing any dreamies. I have 3 in that town to stay and 1 I'm holding there until I do a 16 villager cycle in my other town (It's a cycling town so that one should be easy).

Can anyone help me out? I'm desperate. I REALLY want to start on building my first town but I can't do anything without my dreamies. Is there anything I can do that will make villagers like me less and increase the chance they'll move out?

I currently use megaphone right beside villagers and hit them with toy hammer. Is there anything else I can do?

Thanks in advance!

i haven't found a method that i really love for moving specific villagers out, but there are a few that might help you. there's this one that a user on tumblr wrote, and there's also the one i use most -- you wait for a villager to ping, regardless of who it is, and after they do, deny them & then TT to the date they were due to move out. that'll trigger a new mover. it's not 100% guaranteed every time, but i've found it to be a little better than the others.

also, from what i know, villagers moving is completely random and isn't based on your relationship with them. hitting them with things and yelling in the microphone at them doesn't help. in fact, some people say befriending them is a better way of making them move, but i've had mixed results with both befriending and ignoring them. i'd say just talk to all of your undesired villagers as you would your dreamies, but there's a pretty equal chance anyone could ping regardless.

good luck! :-)

here's my method:
  1. if i currently have 8 villagers, i tt two days at a time until a new one moves in. (no one can move out if you have 8 or less villagers.)
  2. if i don't want to keep the villager, i introduce myself, then completely ignore them, even if they ping me.
  3. i time travel day by day and spam talk to all the villagers i want to keep.
  4. if i hear a villager rumor, i stop and tt to the next day, and make sure i don't rely on that villager for rumors the next day. (e.g. poncho talks about a village rumor. i tt to the next day and make sure a village/moving rumor comes from someone besides poncho. you can learn more about this here.)
  5. if i hear someone is moving, and i want them to stay, i find them and run in front of them to trigger a ping, then i deny their moving request. if i can't trigger their ping, i time travel ahead little by little until i can. make sure to never go past 4 days.
  6. if i want the villager to leave, i promptly tt ahead 5 or 6 days. 5 days will put them in boxes in case i want to give them to someone, but if i just want them gone 6 days will work.
  7. rinse and repeat until the cycle in completed.

i also find it helpful to keep a list of moved-out villagers nearby, so i know how many i have left to cycle out until i can get my dreamies back. if i accidentally lose my dreamies somehow, i put their name in red so i know i have to do the cycle for them as well. (don't worry, after losing my dreamies i modified my method and it never happened again.)

good luck with cycling!

Thanks so much for this! I read that rumor guide and it's been a huge help as well. I already got Lucky out (he creeps me out) so there's my first villager! Hopefully I'll be able to get 16 out so I can bring Kyle and Zell pack in.
