All of my efforts at keeping the cycling villagers original has got me to thinking, what is the appeal of keeping your villager 100% original. I can understand the villagers who have rare furniture like Marshal, but why the rest of them? Please understand, I'm not knocking the concept or trying to come off as an " intelligent posterior", I would really like to know.
The first ACNL game was one that I shared with my daughter. She knows that I hate Garden Gnomes... in RL and in any game... so she made tons of customized gnomes with different colour hats and gifted them to the villagers when they asked for furniture or sent them in the mail. She would always be delighted as she'd wait for me to discover them in the villagers homes when they'd ask me to visit.
I repaid her efforts by gifting everyone the skull T until everyone in town was wearing one.
In my town now I'm designing each visitors home around the theme and according to the area they live in. I think it's adding a level of fun and challenge to my interaction with the villagers and to the game.
