On the other hand, I think it would be weird if Jasper just outright killed Charles... I think he'll need convincing, a lot of convincing, Charles raised him like a son and is the only thing close to Jasper's real father, so I think it would be REALLY weird if he just went and killed him,
in fact, I want to see that trust began to slowly shatter, I want Jasper to start doubting Charles slowly, and I want the betrayal to hurt that much more for both Charles and Jasper D:
