  • Yep that's exactly how I was in school too, at least when I still cared enough to study at all lmao.... It's much easier learning things on your own, at your own pace, and when you're actually interested in the subject! "Kore" and "sore" are like "this" and "that" right? I had to reach into the deep recesses of my brain to pull those out lol. I didn't say I wanted to learn Italian, just that I wanted to go to Italy -- although I'm not opposed to learning it someday! Haha, I made a similar mistake trying to get mushrooms in my cycle town; I didn't know that famous mushrooms (the cutest ones obvs) won't spawn until you've achieved perfect town at least once, which at that point I hadn't. So I was TTing through the whole month like, "am I just really unlucky or is there something else going on here..." lmao. You can drop lost items after you've had them for two days! Once the name changes from "lost item" to "book" or "pouch" or w/e and you can no longer return it.
Aw thanks!! I bought/traded for the majority of the mushrooms -- silly me sold all the ones I collected the previous November, only to later be inspired by a dream town that utilized them well. I'm glad you liked the weeds too! Sometimes I'm not too sure about them, esp since my villagers keep pulling the ones in the left side of that area making the distribution uneven lmao :/
Hmm I might still know a few basic kanji, like numbers up to 10, tree, fire, mountain, Japan... beyond that, I didn't retain much even while I was actively learning it lmao so it's probably all gone now. Wow that's a long winter break, lucky! So you'll at least get your money's worth if you do a month-long subscription (if you don't slack off). Haha it was a higher % than I thought it'd be, assuming it's at all accurate; I think it's an algorithm based on the lessons I completed + the amount of time that's passed since I did them. But yeah there is a proficiency test to place non-beginners! What language do you think you'd choose for your 5th? Oh yeah "discouraged" is a better word than the ones I used haha. "Hate" was a pretty strong word too I realized; I did like visiting towns occasionally, it just seemed like a chore to do it often I guess? But I should say there were def a few towns I visited early on that influenced parts of my town (even if I was discouraged by them at first!)
Aww wow thank you so much for the glowing review!! I'm so glad you liked it, and that it inspired you in some ways. You'll have to remind me to check yours out again once you finish your other houses!
I made an account last night and got the coupon too hehe, even more incentive to try it out soon. You have until the end of the year to redeem it at least! If you hold out long enough they might even send more coupons ;) Duolingo is completely free, actually! It's quite fun and easy to use, I'd def recommend it if you ever want to take on a fifth language lol, or just brush up on your Spanish. They have a really intuitive app too, although it lacks a few features the web version has. I just logged into my account for the first time in ages and it says my Spanish fluency is 23%. B) tbh I've only in the last year or so come to love visiting dream towns! I used to hate it and I don't really know why. I think it was once I finished my town that I learned to appreciate and admire the work and heart that others put into theirs. Also helped having a completed town I was happy with so I wouldn't feel bitter/jealous seeing another great town lmao (ok, I still do sometimes)
Yeah I have been up playing at 5am on a few occasions lmao; it's like a slowed down, minimalist version of the main theme. Although now that I've just looked up all the hourly music to refresh my memory, it's maybe not as nice as 6-9 am haha. It's definitely interesting tho which is maybe why it sticks in my head. Nooo problem, it was my pleasure to visit again! I'm still working on that dream badge anyway :p and sure whenever you get around to it, take your time!!
Korean fried chicken sounds pretty good actually! Don't know if I've had that before. (And I typed "korean friend chicken" twice in a row trying to get that sentence out.) I just checked out Wanikani and it seems pretty cool! It reminds me of Duolingo in its approach (and use of cutesy graphics lol), I'll have to bookmark it for future reference. I definitely should jump back into at least one of the two languages sometime, since honestly I have way more free time now than I'll probably ever have again in my life? I think there are just too many other things I want to do/learn that I can't decide so I just end up doing nothing productive, ever, lmao. No I think you're right about Spanish being the most common non-English language! That did factor into my decision a little bit.
1am, 11pm, and 5am are my favs! And nope no theme; just kinda did whatever I thought would look nice haha. I do always update during the rain tho so I guess I have that aesthetic going on. OK SO I visited your town again to refresh my memory so I could say more specific nice things about it and honestly it was even prettier than I remembered! Your paths are so cohesive and well thought out (I've seen a lot of bad paths lol). And the colors/types of flowers you used, esp where they weren't in perfect patterns, complimented each other so well. I loved the campsite area with the path tiles in the checkerboard pattern with the clovers, mushrooms, etc. (tbh reminded me that my camp area could use a revamp), and the area with the hot spring and zen garden with the alternating bushes + bamboo stumps is gooorgeous. I just loved how there's a consistent color theme/aesthetic throughout, even between the more town-y areas vs the more woodsy areas. Phew that was long-winded!!
Oh I'm alll about pepperoni. I'm not always a huge fan of fried chicken but KFC is pretty great! Yeah I took the class freshman, sophomore, and senior year and skipping a year is definitely what screwed me. (I didn't even want to take it a third time, I just needed a third choice elective and ofc I ended up getting it and the sensei kinda scolded me lmao) Wow so you're almost quadrilingual (a word I learned from google just now)! Do you hope to pick up Japanese again once you've got more time? I saw some people on Tumblr talking about Duolingo as a good resource for learning languages and I checked it out thinking I could brush up on my Japanese, but it wasn't one of the available languages so I thought, "well, I don't have to limit myself to just being bilingual... uh... ok, Spanish is at the top of the list!" I actually got kinda far in the lessons but I kept taking extended breaks and naturally the longer breaks I took the less I'd look forward to jumping back in again.
Events happen either at someone's house, apartment or somewhere like at an anime convention, flea market,LAN center, movie theatre etc..

Even I hosted an event with 30 people and it was amazing.
I'll have some flyers made soon for the public.

I'm also in a video game club in San Jose called "South Bay Button Mashers"

    http://www.meetup.com/ButtonMashers/

It's a great club to interact with people and stuff. I've been there for almost a year and I can say awesome and nice group of people.
Pretty much and planning for the most part. But the great part is that most of these events that I'm planning are FREE to the public. :)
The meeting that i'm going to starts at 5pm on the 2nd floor but I'll probably get there a little earier and if you're busy than that's fine. Just wondering how would we meet up with each other.
They can be really fun indeed and especially with a few laughs.

I'll be a MLK Library again tomorrow btw for meetings.
It was ok and a lot of people that went played more board games than video games lol
ohhh i've been a long time pokemon weeb! i mean growing up with it makes it a part of the childhood i'm still desperately clinging on to. i started playing gold on my cousin's gameboy color as my first pokemon game LMAO. now that pokemon go is coming out next year, i'm just like yep time to quit college and live my childhood dream.
