You can substitute the year with a month. The cycling method I generally go by is:
1. Villager in boxes
2. TT five days back
3. TT one month ahead
4. TT five days forward
It's quick and efficient. Cycling while holding villagers is also pretty easy, but takes a bit more work.

I know that very well. It's especially awful when I'm holding a villager for someone and they want them in boxes. It sometimes takes like 40 loads to get them out then.
