  • Thank you so much. <3 I'm not totally sure why I've been so upset lately, but I think it's just because I've been having some problems with my family and I've been getting anxious because I haven't talked to some of my friends or this girl I liked in a while, so I've felt kind of isolated. I'm beginning to feel a bit better now than I did, so I'm sure I'll feel back to normal pretty soon!

And that sounds like a lot of fun! I bet a comic festival would be really cool and it's nice you got to see your best friend. :) Hopefully you'll have time to stay at her house over the summer, but it's so awesome that you got a job! Congrats! When do you start?
Yeah exactly! It's difficult to get the hang of things whenever I switch weapons. It's been a while since I've played Splatoon so I know it'll take a bit of practice to get used to playing again after taking a break from it. And yeah! I completed like one level of the single player (but I didn't even realize it was the single player mode while I was playing it lol) and thought it was pretty fun! I'll probably try to finish it once I start playing again but I always get so sucked into the turf wars and I can end up playing matches for hours at a time! I definitely agree it's very enjoyable and it'll probably end up being my favorite mode so far as well, but I guess it isn't fair to judge yet since I've barely tried out the other modes. Are ranked matches just like turf war matches except it counts your wins/losses, or are there any other differences?
Hi :) I apologize as well that I've sort of been taking a while to reply. I haven't been feeling very great and I've been trying to sort some things out for myself, but I hope you've had a nice week! How are you doing?
Yeah! It's definitely very useful. And that's kind of how I am too. After I was done practicing with the roller, even though I never got very great at using it, it was hard to go back to using the guns because they're so different to use and I'd gotten used to playing with the roller. Ohhh, that makes sense then, 'cause I haven't really played much of the single player yet. I didn't realize you unlocked weapons from that so I'll have to give it a shot soon! There's lots of stuff I'm still discovering about the game because I've pretty much only been playing turf wars so far and I've only switched weapons like, three times haha.
That makes sense! At first I thought it was kinda silly to be putting the exams on computers for that reason (if the electricity went out or something) and because it seems a little unreliable, but there have been times before when the exams we did on paper would get invalidated because the booklets were ruined somehow or the answers were scanned incorrectly or something like that, so I guess there can be problems either way (although relying on technology can probably be a bit more unpredictable).
And I hope you get things sorted out with applying to university soon if you haven't already!

Yeah, the bubble is super helpful for me 'cause lots of times I'll get hit by someone who's standing high up on a platform or something and I'll have no idea they're there, so I like being able to shield myself! And yeah, I think the rollers are a lot of fun to use but it is very close combat which makes them difficult for me. I always think it's funny when someone's been following me with a roller and they just come up from behind and attack me, but I can never do that, I'm just not good at all at being sneaky haha. And cool! I don't think I've tried out that weapon yet but anything that's really rapid fire is good by me.
Oh really? Yeah that does seem like it'd be pretty unfair. We aren't able to search for anything when we test while using computers so I'm not sure how they would make that work so it's fair, and it does seem like it'd be unreliable as well, like you said. We use the computers for stuff like that, to watch little video clips and such, and it works out pretty well! Last year was the first year we started using computers for testing so there were definitely some issues, but as long as they're sorted out I think it'd make things much easier and quicker to be able to type on a keyboard. Our teachers keep telling us that pretty soon all of our tests will be taken on a computer, so it wouldn't surprise me if they began doing the same over there in the future!
And thank you! Good luck to you as well. :) Oh no that's weird that you can't find the course you want to take! It's nice you guys get assigned mentors, though, so hopefully yours will be able to help you out with it soon.

Yeah, the streets are all very organized and straight so it seems like it'd be difficult to get lost, but I kept getting confused and going down streets I've already been down before because some of the streets kind of looked the same to me haha. But I was probably just being dumb and getting distracted by all the tall buildings and crowds of people and stuff, so I'm sure it won't be easy to get lost!

Awesome! I should be around on Sunday for sure. :) And I usually use the splatter shot jr! I'm trying to get used to using rollers as well, but I always do best with that, so that's what I use the most. What about you?
That's true! I think just about everyone at around this age faces a lot of pressure so there's really no reason for people to be arguing about which country has it the worst or whatever, it's just pointless. You mean they'd be able to use Google during their exams? o: That doesn't seem very fair to me, either. Even if they did filter the search engines I'm sure people could figure out ways to get around it, but idk I'm not sure how it'd work. Some of our tests are already being switched over so we take them on computers instead of on paper, so maybe in the future they'll do the same with your exams!
And there are lots of signs everywhere but it's probably best to look up directions anyway because it's easy to get lost! We didn't look up the directions for anything when we went and we ended up going around in circles a few times haha. Oooh yeah, the Statue of Liberty was a bit smaller than I had imagined it to be, but I still thought it was very amazing! I didn't get to go up close to it, either (I just saw it from inside a boat), so maybe it'd be more impressive if you actually got to go up inside of it or something. And that's such a cool idea! I hope you have fun with whatever you guys decide to do :D

And yeah, I'll probably be around for most of the weekend so we can find a time to play sometime then if you want!
Yeah, I see that on tumblr too, and I see a lot of Americans who just straight up complain about the grade boundaries there, but it doesn't seem fair to me for them to make judgments if they haven't taken the exams themselves. Haha I hear a lot of older people here say that as well! My business teacher this year would always go on about how lazy students have gotten since we're about to use the Internet, but that's just the way things have changed and it'd be stupid not to use the technology we have available to us now! And I totally know what you mean. I should be trying to figure out where I'm going to university as well but I have no idea where I wanna go. I'd be so lost if I had to start doing the application process so I'm sorry they're making you do that already. :/
Oooh the Nintendo store would be awesome to go to! I hadn't even thought of going there. o: And yeah yeah, it's definitely good to at least plan out a little because there's so much to do there it can get overwhelming. To be honest I'm not usually one to plan things ahead of time, so when I went last time we did end up just walking around for most of the day, but since this'll be my second time there I might have a better idea of what to do. And those should all be fun! I saw the Statue of Liberty when I went and it was very beautiful. I wanted to go up in the Empire State building as well, but my mom was with me and she's terrified of heights so I didn't go because I didn't wanna just leave her by herself, but maybe next time I'll get to go. And that'll be really cool. Do you already know what the short film will be about?

Also I've added your NNID! Sorry I forgot to mention that earlier haha
Wow, it sounds like you guys work super hard to get a good grade so I don't get why people would say you don't deserve it. I mean it's one thing if just a portion of students aren't doing well, but if it's nearly everyone then it's pretty clear the exam was too difficult and it'd make sense for the grade boundaries to lower! It's easy to just blame the students but yeah, I think people forget that there could be problems with the teachers as well. And yeah, it's a lot! But that's true, I suppose it does make it easier since we usually have less to remember for each exam. Although sometimes the teachers will decide to put everything we've learned for the year in our final exam, which doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me because we've already been tested on all that we learned for the first half of the year. I always think it's difficult just having to go back and look at all my notes for the year, so having to study for three years of material sounds really tough!
YES i gotta add you still! i'll do that today. tbh i wish there were more game modes but maybe in the future. aha i use squid girl as well but i might switch it up. yesss i love the shield, imo it's the most useful item with a weapon
yeah it's like every time i turn on my console it seems to need an update. IT IS! like okay i rented it and was having fun with it where if i lost, i did not care at all cause it was just fun, yknow, but then i started getting used to every thing and was having losing streaks because my team members were either idle or not painting things they should have ._. i have a problem using the roller tbh; i'm just bad at it lol. i'm actually bad with most weapons apart from the one you start out with, idk why. yeahhhh i hear that for sure. omg the matchmaking though still is awful... i keep getting in games with level 20 people or level 17 and it's ridiculous since i'm only level 6 and some people are SO CHEAP LIKE AGH. wait did it come out earlier in england or something?
well Hyrule Warriors is basically Dynasty Warrors with Zelda, which imo makes it more appealing.

    yeah true that. :3
And well, if we end up going this summer we'll probably only be in the city for a day and then we'd spend the rest of our time in the upper part of the state away from the city (because that's where a lot of my family lives). But if we end up going in the fall, we'd probably get to spend more time in the city but we haven't really planned on what we'd do yet. Last time we were there we just kind of walked around and found stuff to do as we went, and it seemed to work out okay so we may just do the same thing again next time. And yeah, it's super crowded so it'd be really weird if we managed to bump into each other! o: What are you guys planning on doing once you're there? And that's awesome! Taylor Swift is a very amazing person, I could definitely see her doing that too. I'm sure one day I'll find a way to see her somehow!
And that makes sense! Over here it really depends on the school and each teacher, but in my school we'd have a final exam for each of our classes both before the end of the first semester (which is right before we go on winter break) and then again at the very end of the year. The grades we get on them don't usually determine our overall grade for the class, but they can affect our grade a lot if we do very poorly, so it's important to do well on them if you want a good grade for the class. I hope that makes sense as well haha. I think it's pretty confusing the way we do it, but yeah, basically we take them twice a year for every year of high school (which is just 9th-12th grade in my area).
Yeah, if he could just like slow it down a bit when he teaches, I think he'd be much better. Like you said it's good to teach something you're passionate about, so I think he could be a really great teacher and I hope maybe after this year he'll improve! And yeah I agree! Lots of times when we take a test and everyone does badly, our teacher will say we all need to do a better job of studying and to try harder, which could be true but it also probably means the test was too difficult or our teacher needs to change something about how they're doing the lesson. That's nice of your teachers to try to help prepare you better before your exams haha.
And I'm going to Texas in about a week and then Virginia sometime in July, and I may go to New York sometime this year as well! I hope you have fun there when you go. :) Omg, I hope you have fun seeing Taylor Swift too! I've been wanting to go to one of her concerts for a really long time.

I work at a daycare and summer camp! I just liked it because I got to spend a lot of time with kids, and I really like hanging out with kids. Thank you so much! I hope everything works out okay for you as well. :)
