Do you have a skype? I think this will be a lot of conversating so might as well move this to a more instant means of communication. Unless you prefer this method.
Did you look at the layer mode? the glow on sonic is simply the '2. Hardness 025' brush (when I say brushes, i mean like effects and stuff like that, not drawing) and with a screen layer mode at 50%. Lens Flares are pretty much the light source. It adds a bit of a focus to the tag. And, I don't mind the questions.
No the brushes are a bit more difficult. You have to go to C:\Program Files\GIMP 2\share\gimp\2.0\brushes to drop them into there. And, i simply look up GIMP brushes in Deviantart and just find them there. If you want specific ones, I can try and find them for you. Honestly, I probably use brushes 25% of the time.
