well my first actual console was the wii, my mom avoided buying me and my siblings video game consoles because she didn't want us getting "addicted". She was fine with getting us handhelds though ... my first was a purple game boy color. got it on my 6th birthday back in 1999!

WHAT WAS THE FIRST GAMEING CONSOLE YOU EVER OWNED?
Family wise it was the Atari 2600, and myself personally was the old black and green version gameboy.
