Welcome to Ponkan!

Rory: Yo! Caught ya peeking at this journal, rawr. Guess I'd better give a quick intro huh? Well, seems like our island rep is pretty obsessed with citrus fruit. He even named this island after one! Not that it's weird though, oranges grow everywhere around here. I've been living here since March 2020 but it seems like there's still some sort of development going on. Right now the island's being decked out in summery furniture. I'm even sweating harder than usual, that's tropical island weather for ya! Rawr!

Zarf: Hello! This is a journal shared by everyone on Ponkan. It will mostly consist of photos, with comments from me or other residents! I'll start by sharing our island info down below. Then I'll try to update... whenever I feel like it :d

Island Entrance

Zarf: Since this is the first proper journal entry, I thought I should add photos of the first area I created. It's my favorite spot on this island and the one that's changed the most! Everyone passes by here since it connects the plaza, airport and paths leading to Nook's Cranny or the beach. The stone tablet in the middle is carved with this island's history.

Pierce: I love sitting (on the floor) and welcoming visitors. It's the perfect chance to practice my waving skills! My wings are gonna be so swole, hawkeye!!​

I'm sure there's lots of better tile designs out there but I couldn't find any that meets my specific needs. So I made my own! It looks best when layered on top of the dirt path.

Margie's Flower Field

Margie: Oh! Hello there, tootie. Isn't it lovely? I worked really hard to plant all these flowers, so please be careful when passing through. If anyone dares to hurt any of my babies... well, let's just say they'll be sorry!​

Moai Falls & Hibiscus

Zarf: I finally got around to planting hibiscus shrubs, mostly in this area! There are 2 bridges here that separate the town and forest. It's also a great place to go fishing. The waterfalls can be kinda noisy... but Teddy loves to hang around here, so I guess it's bearable :d​

Rory: Man, celebrating with my buds is the best!! They even threw a rad fireworks show for how awesome I am! Rawr!! It was all BOOM FWOOSH BANG KAPOW!!!!

Goodbye Summer!

Zarf: Summer is almost over! It's been a while since the last journal update, so I thought I'd add some photos from the last fireworks festival. It all passed by so quickly...

Rory: Oh yeah? Well not as quick as me!! Watch me do 10 laps around the island, rawr!

Fish Encyclopedia (and Museum) Complete!

Zarf: Yesterday I caught the last 2 fish I needed to complete my fish encyclopedia, the salmon and king salmon. There were also the last 2 things I needed to donate to the museum. All of our museum collections are now 100% complete!

Pierce's Private Beach

Pierce: You might think I'm all about fitness 24/7, so I must have a filthy gym bro home huh? Well think again, hawkeye! My tastes are just as refined as my muscles. Feel free to look around. Just... ignore the sweat smell.
