I love these kind of threads, there aren't much more of those, honestly!

I know we have the little blurbs and noises that everyone makes throughout the Animal Crossing games, but have you actually thought of really imagining villagers and special characters speaking with specific cartoon character voices while reading the villager dialogue box? I do this a lot, it gives everyone even more personality than they already do. Forgive me, this is going to be a little long.

Removed villagers and special characters from past games also count, I can hear Oxford speak like Homer Simpson.

How I imagine villagers' and special character voices...

--- Villager Voices ---
T-Bone - Mr. Turner (The Fairly OddParents!)
Rodeo - SpongeBob SquarePants (SpongeBob SquarePants)
Vic - Cyborg (Teen Titans)
Tipper - Wanda (The Fairly OddParents!)
Patty - Clarabelle Cow (Disney)
Coach - Barney Gumble (The Simpsons)
Stu - French Narrator (SpongeBob SquarePants)
Norma - Nora Wakeman (My Life as a Teenage Robot)
Naomi - Roz (Monsters Inc.)
Chrissy - Daizy (Wow! Wow! Wubbzy!)
Francine - Wubbzy (Wow! Wow! Wubbzy!)
Carmen - Mabel Pines (Gravity Falls)
O'Hare - Carl Wheezer (Jimmy Neutron)
Doc - Mickey Mouse (Disney)
Snake - Abyo (Pucca)
Gaston - Mr. Grouse (The Loud House)
Julian - Him (The Powerpuff Girls)
Rocco - Goofy (Disney)
Mallary - Daisy Duck (Disney)
Chevre - Huggy (Wow! Wow! Wubbzy!)
Octavian - Squidward Tentacles (SpongeBob SquarePants)
Ricky - Krusty the Clown (The Simpsons)
Curlos - Cosmo (The Fairly OddParents!)
Judy - Madame Blueberry (VeggieTales)
Beardo - Pa Grape (VeggieTales)

Dobie - Abraham Simpson (The Simpsons)
Penelope - Minnie Mouse (Disney)

Kid Cat - Buttercup (The Powerpuff Girls)

--- Special Character Voices ---
Tom Nook - Walden (Wow! Wow! Wubbzy!) I realized both characters say their same catchphrase of, "yes, yes, yes"!
Isabelle - Jenny Wakeman (My Life as a Teenage Robot)
Sonny Resetti - Big Bob Pataki (Hey Arnold!)
Tortimer - Phil Shortman (Hey Arnold!)
Brewster - Mr. Herriman (Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends)
Blathers - Archibald Asparagus (VeggieTales)

Not necessarily the voices of specific cartoon characters, but I do have headcannons for what their voices sound like. I'll edit them in when I get the chance to do so!

There's a few I can somewhat imagine. If I ever made short videos of Animal Crossing villagers with English voice actors, these are a few of the styles I'd try to pair:
  • Pascal: Sounding like Cheech Marin, but talking like Tommy Chong. Vice versa of Harvey.
  • Harvey: Sounding like Tommy Chong, but talking like Cheech Marin. Vice versa of Pascal.
  • Bob: Kid-like that has trouble pronouncing "s" syllables; his e-reader card mentions that he often spits while speaking.
  • Punchy: Almost like Bob, but correctly pronouncing "s" syllables and sounding more "tween" like.
  • Olivia: Sounding somewhat like a stereotypical Hollywood actress that would star in an old noir film.
  • Tom: Deep-ish Boston accent.
  • Rosie: Exactly like Pinkie Pie from MLP.
  • Poncho: Teen-like, but while going through the beginning stages of puberty.
  • Grizzly: Deep Canadian accent.
  • Cousteau: Stereotypical French accent.
  • Stitches: Toddler-like that can speak full sentences. Basically a Rugrats character.
  • Kyle: Stereotypical young adult surfer.
  • Audie: Maybe like one of the Kardashians.
That's all I can think of at the moment.
