Can you plant bush starts on the beach?

I haven't done this yet. The only things I planted on the beaches were palm trees.

Maybe I should try this.

Pretty sure they will just wilt if you plant them on the beach.

Wasn't it stated somewhere in the game that only certain plants can grow on the beaches? Pretty sure only palm trees and flowers are allowed
