That's a brilliant idea with making a mini-mural with patterned beds. Though I don't love totoro enough to plaster it all over my town like people seem to be doing, I'll probably do something like this with other characters.

2 sisters in totoro, one older, one younger.
The real plot of the story is Totoro murders the younger girl, and the older one is so depressed she ends up falling for Totoros trap so she dies as well. LOL HAVE FUN WATCHING IT o/

As interesting as the theory was, it was put to rest. The story is a bit different from what Hamusuta said, but it's still a good read.

Does seem a bit distasteful on Studio ghibli's behalf if it is true, so I'd heed them saying it's unrelated. - Though it is Japan so anythings possible.
I think most of it is just people wanting it to be true and looking too deep to tie stories together.
