Yes, I completely agree! Whilst I'm endeared to the Japanese version, the English dub does certainly have its charms, and is a huge source of nostalgia for many. I dislike when people say there's only one correct version of a character because that really isn't true; all of the different portrayals of the characters let you learn things about them in ways you wouldn't if they were only shown in one particular way. c: In terms of art, don't worry about needing to be confined to one particular medium just because that's the most commonly used! Different things work better for different people; it may be easier for you to be more free with painting because imo, it's a little less restricted in terms of what you can and can't do in comparison to drawing. I love painting because you can be a bit more abstract and artistic with it, meaning it's a bit easier to express what you want to through the artwork, if that makes sense! If you give it a go, you might find you actually really like it!
