totally agree with you. that's why I still love Sherlock, moffat's influence isn't as profound and we have incredible writers (gatiss and Thompson) at the forefront of it's progression. but if moffat manages to slither his way into pioneering Sherlock with less of an influence from those two, I will be very sad. I do believe that moffat can be a genuinely good writer but his personality is just a killer for so many good ideas and scripts. as you said, he just wants to get attention really and so many of his elaborately stupid side plots and "plot twists" are borderline ridiculous. I swear if next season of Sherlock moriarty turns out to be john and Mary's son from the future who has travelled through dimensions to seek revenge because *insert inexplicably childish, ridiculous and long winded reason here*
