I don't even use tiers, in my opinion they're kind of... dumb? Not dumb, but yeah. Unofficial, a lot of people won't even know what those are. Besides, when battling on random WiFi, everyone just uses OU with the occassional NU Japanese masterminds (ran into some of them in 4th and 5th gen - encountered a Starmie with the most unexpected and annoying moveset, a Hitmonchan swept the floor with me, got defeated by a Drowzee or Hypno, the likes)

If I were to take my older teams, they were almost always a mix of OU, UU and NU. RU didn't exist yet I believe. (or it did, but it was still a fresh tier) I just use the mons I like. My XY team is made out of the more OU folks, I like them, but they aren't my favourites, I made a team to win but I am not sure if I am happy with it.

I've been in competitive for a while as well, although I don't battle that much. I know some of the youtubers you listed, but I find watching battles boring, so... yup. More so because 80% have the same mons and strategies. And I can see that a lot has changed, definitely. xD I just wish we could get PokeBank already... there's around 50 EV trained lovelies waiting in my White 2.

And no, thank you, I am not interested in training an Infernape. I have an old one somewhere, back from the days of Diamond and Pearl, it was pretty useful on PBR I must admit. Thanks though, that's really nice of you.

Not because of this, but I seem to lose a lot and while I can take a loss of course, it becomes annoying if I lose again and again no matter how hard I try and how many hours I spend playing this. Pokemon has gone downhill to me - it's hard to battle with your favourite Pokemon, everyone is using what is the strongest and best at the moment. I don't like how competitive it got, it's no fun for me anymore. I could stop online battling, but then, there's nothing to do besides that and because I IV breed and EV train, in-game is too easy.

I do and I do. I was suprised as well, I mean, what the heck? This thing has perfect IVs, Careful nature and max EVs in Sp. Def. I guess that Charizard is some son of Satan himself or something, lolol.

Kudos to you, though! I wish I had a less outdated team (I made it around October I believe) and that dreaded bank came out already, but well. I am wondering if I shouldn't quit Pokemon altogether, no matter how hard I try I'll always get screwed over all the time, so really, this game has been making me more angry than happy as of late.
