  • That makes sense. Who knows what some otherworldly forces would want to keep concealed? Terrifying to think about, as a matter of fact...
I actually haven't had one in a long time, so I couldn't tell you, sorry. I don't remember myself. Why ask, just out of curiosity?
No, I forgot to. Please don't tell my dentist!!!

Just kidding, of course I did. :)
It helps if you have a first party controller. When I transitioned from pro Brawl to semi-pro Melee, I had to understand that although I was near the top of the game in Brawl, Melee is literally infinitely deep in its gameplay. I started chatting it up with the world's best Smashers, and tuned in to their Twitch channels. If you think you're good, and you talk with people who are good, and try new things occasionally, then as long aa you fight people regularly, you'll be better every day.

Also, I fought CPUs for years. The day I actually played a real person, even though he was a terrible player, I got waaay better.
I definitely gotta give it more practice. All honesty, I still have some of the same fighting habits I had as a kid. I can hold my own, but I'd like to have more variety in what I can do. How'd you break it in initially? Just keep practicing, or were you able to get them down pretty quick?
I love matching my friend as Roy vs Marth. Probably when I have the most fun. He plays C. Falcon too, and I always get knee'd in the face. Fox is great; I play Falco occasionally if I don't wanna play YL/Roy. How big are you on things like L-canceling and wavedashing? My friend taught me a while back, but I can't get myself in a habit of using 'em.
Yeah, I'll give it a look. Thanks! For Melee, I've been playing Young Link ever since I was a kid. He'll always be my favorite, but this past year I've been playing around with Roy, too. How about you?
