  • I like your plan. >:]

I'll have to check him out! I totally understand what you mean by the control-freakiness, I am the exact same way. I have to achieve 100%, or else it's not good enough. :p I need to know what's behind every rock. Even if I know there's nothing there, I have to check.

Warning you now that Chuggaconroy is also very thorough, so if you don't want to watch that kind of gameplay you probably won't enjoy it as much. If you still want to check him out, though, he also did a New Leaf Let's Play that's pretty interesting. :)
    2/2

The TV question's got me pondering. Of course a TV will give you the best experience. But since you can play Pikmin 3 and select other games in "Off-TV Mode" (i.e., gamepad only), I think you could get away with just plugging it into the wall and not into a TV. The plug-ins for the Wii U are an AC adapter of course and an HDMI cable, so I think if your laptop had an HDMI plug-in, it should theoretically work?

If you wanted to play with the wiimote & nunchuk, though, I think it would be pretty difficult to coordinate a sensor bar with a laptop unless you set it up on a table a TV-distance away, though.

Hopefully that all made sense! Just my speculation, I'd suggest either finding someone in the same situation or talking to Nintendo's customer service before you buy a Wii U (if you buy one), just to be 100% sure it'll work.
1/2 - apparently my VM was too long. :p

The juice is basically a new-fangled timer. In the first game, you had 30 days to find 25(I think?) mandatory ship parts. In the second game, there was no timer - you could take as long as you wanted. In the third game, you drink one bottle of juice a day, so theoretically, if you ran out of juice, you'd game over, but I took a long-ish time to finish on my first playthrough and still had 50+ juices left, so it's kind of irrelevant.

Who did you watch play? I know MilesSMB does speedruns of the game, so while interesting, they're not the most detailed ones to watch. I've watched Chuggaconroy's LPs of Pikmin & Pikmin 2 and he does a good job of explaining his strategies and the different aspects of the game without being dull.
Messaging you because I didn't want to clog up the thread with Pikmin talk haha, just wanted to say that you will be attached at first, and be sad when they die... but then you will realize some Pikmin are just dumb and put themselves in the line of fire, and you won't feel so bad. Plus, you can reset the day whenever you want and try again if you have a ton of deaths.

If you're going to get a Wii U, I'd start with Pikmin 3 to be honest, unless you can find the original Pikmin easily. The graphics are incredible, and the controls are easy to learn (I used the wiimote & nunchuk as my main controller, and had the gamepad on my lap as a map).
    Wonderful!
Glad you got it! You deserve it!
    Exclamation!

Also, what game did you get? :)

Yes I saw that doll and it was creepy at first but it looks so hardcore and I want to keep it forever
    Hello!
I just wanted to check up on you and see how you're doing!~
And also see how your Club Nintendo endeavors went (you know since today is the last day to register codes lol)
I must be thinking of the book then.

As for the 80's stuff, I figured it out from the poll on the age thread. I kinda want to meet more people born in the 1970's since they have a clearer image of what the 80's is like. I am interested in the generation gap, and I have a huge interest in the 80's stuff.
HOLY CRAP. Your avatar/user pic of the .gif of the little girl from A Little Princess. Wow. I needed to see that. One of the most beautiful moments in a movie ever, ever.
No problem, and happy valentines to you too! I always miss restocks but was somehow on for that one. I always get something when I don't try, ha ha. I should just trust dumb luck more. :)
Congratulations on blue candy, was just checking that you got one since I was going to give one of mine to you.
Thanks for entering the giveaway that I'm hosting with Starlark! You won the prize for October 27th, congrats. :D

Sending the yellow candy right now. As for the art prize - Please leave me a VM or PM with the name of your favorite Animal Crossing villager so I can forward the information to Starlark. :)
