I tried to think and!!! I was thinking that they met in kindergarten and when yuu's parents abandoned him , usako gave yuu the brown teddy bear . Yuu had to leave the kindergarten after that and he was homeless for a long time,but the teddy bear was his companion . he later lived together with a herd of sheep and they took him in. when he was old enough he wanted to meet usako again and returned to the city, he often lived in the streets as he searched for usako, they later reunited and became bfs!! Yuu still lives in the streets tho because he got used to it and prefers it that way , he has a hidden place somewhere in the open air where he always stays and he likes taking his teddy for a walk
